We work to build the resilience of Syrians, and to relieve the impact on the Jordanian communities that host them.  Syrian refugees in Jordan are struggling. As they contend with difficult living conditions across the country, the obstacles are complex. They struggle to remain registered as refugees, to provide for their families, and to access essential services – including education for their children. The Jordanian communities that host them, meanwhile, feel the impact of hosting high numbers of refugees – with each year that passes, local infrastructure becomes more strained.

 Shelter Team Leader - Construction  
Role Specific Information
The Shelter Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of architects producing technical designs for school construction / expansion projects.
Generic responsibilities:
  • Management of project staff.
  • Implement plan of action for delegated portfolio of Core Competency projects (activities, budget and project documentation).
  • Day to day follow of progress in project implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC policies, Core Competency tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and other documents.
  • Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer of key skills.
  • Liaison and collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Promote the rights of internally displaced/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of engineers to enable continued progress of construction and inspection activities.
  • Ensure that all construction activities are being implemeneted according to relevant building codes, guidelines and the industry's best practices.
  • Review and prepare technical deocuments and designs (BOQ's, SOW).
  • Prepare technical and financial progress reports.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to multiple construction sites.

Our Ideal Candidate:
The candidate must be a university graduate in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of four years of experience in a similar field, specifically in construction works, with proven experience in construction management and dealing with contractors.
The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, have strong management and communication skills to supervise a team of engineers and coordinate with several parties and build trust. Must be details oriented, well organized and planned to handle multiple tasks in the field as well as the in the office and with the team.
We are looking for a hardworking dedicated candidate, who shows interest in this project to share their experience and provide their input to make a difference for vulnerable people.

2-M&E Officer - Training - Amman

In line with NRC Jordan’s ambitions of enhancing the quality of data collected and its evidence-base decision making ability, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) unit is looking for an Officer able to contribute to the dissemination of M&E knowledge and skills by delivering technical trainings internally and externally to the organization. Under the supervision of a M&E coordinator, the main role of the M&E Training Officer is to deliver multi-level M&E trainings to both staff members and refugees; and to support in the management and supervision of enumerators during data collection exercises in both camps and host communities.
Generic responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Implement delegated Core Competency project portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.
    Specific responsibilities
  • Support in the draft and design of M&E trainings according to the identified learning needs.
  • Plan M&E training sessions in coordination with other programme teams.
  • Facilitate M&E trainings targeting different audiences, this includes NRC staff members as well as beneficiaries.
  • Equip a group of trainees with the technical and training skills to be able to support in the delivery of M&E trainings.
  • Systematically supervise the operational delivery of trainings by other trained instructors to guarantee a uniform and consistent high standard of quality.
  • Suggest changes and improvements in the materials based on observations and discussions with the trainees and the trainers.
  • Support in planning and managing data collection processes at all stages of the cycle.
  • Monitor enumerator performances, provide feedback and guidance to guarantee high quality data.
  • Support in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data collected.
  • Document project progresses, technical issues and/or questions in a way that can be channeled to the Coordinator through a clear reporting mechanism.
Our Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor degree or equivalent, 3 years of experience. 1 to 2 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation. Excellent training, capacity building and presentation skills. Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. Intermediate to advanced level in MS Excel, Power Point and Word. Willingness to travel to the field (in both camps and host communities) on a daily basis.

We are particularly looking for a positive individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build trust and confidently navigate both internally and externally at different levels, to have the ability to analyze data and trends for informed decisions and Capacity building skills.

  • Coordinate with the Jordan Engineers Association, Civil Defense and any other relevant parties to obtain necessary approvals and certificates.

The candidate must be a university graduate in Architecture, with a minimum of four years of experience in similar field, with proven experience in developing designs and technical drawings, and knowledge in the construction sector.

 Techncial HR Assistant  
Role Specific Information
The role of the Technical HR Assistant is to support Personnel and Recruitment colleagues in the day to day administration of the HR department for the Area Office. 
Generic responsibilities:
  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
  • Assist a range of support with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  • Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated
  • Responsible for organizing and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team.
  • Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work.
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.
  • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

Specific responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate data in the HR Database (HRM system, HR Agresso, excel database). 
  • Responsible fo proper documentation and filing (i.e personnel files, hard and electronic, timesheets, attendance sheets, overtime, leave requests etc). 
  • Supports the HR Coordinator in administration related to social security and medical insurance. 
  • Responsible for following up on health insurance information, (additions, cancellations, claims). 
  • Update and maintain the organagram for the area office. 
  • Support the Technical Recruitment Officer in the advertising of new positions on webcruiter and on external websites. 
  • Supports the Technical Recruitment Officer in the booking and arranging of interviews. 
  • Responsible for the proper filing of recruitment documents. 
  • Responsible to ensure that webcruiter is updated and positions are closed properly in line with SOPs. 
  • Support in the arranging of trainings when required 

Our Ideal Candidate:
The candidate must have Vocational/Tawjihi degree or equivalent , with a minimum of One year of experience in a similar field preferably within a humanitarian context.
The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and positive, with high sense of integrity and confidentiality. They must be detail oriented as well as organised in order to handle multiple tasks and work well with the team.
