Functional Rehabilitation Training
Objectives of training:
The overall objective of this training is to understand the Functional Rehabilitation, functional assessment, functional treatment plan and home adaptation.
Specific objectives:
· Provide the participant functional rehabilitation concept.
· Ensure the functional rehabilitation (ADLs) in the therapist daily work.
· Provide the participants tools and hands-out practice.
· Provide functional rehabilitation for hand.
· Provide splinting theoretical and practice.
· Provide Home assessment and modification implementation.
Content of the training
· Introduce functional rehabilitation definition and concept.
· Practice the comprehensive and functional assessment.
· Collaborative planning and Activity Analysis basics.
· What are Activities of Daily Living and how can the participants be used with beneficiaries.
· Overview of assistive devices.
· Hand therapy using items found around a typical household.
· Splinting theoretical and practice.
· Home and environmental modifications.
Expected results:
· The therapist will understanding the functional Rehabilitation which reflates in the beneficiary’s goals, and daily work.
· The therapist will be able to implement comprehensive and functional assessment.
· Identify the proper and effective assistive product for the beneficiaries as needed.
· Implementation of hand rehabilitation exercise using items found a typical household.
· To be able the participants to provide splint service.
· Implementing home and environmental modifications.
Expected Deliverables
- Theoretical material used during the training.
- Assessment forms.
- Action plans for different injury type who contributed to the functional Rehabilitation practice.
- Report of the training: general assessment of trainees, capacities and understanding.
- Pre/post-tests (to be arranged by the trainers)
- Results of pre and post-test, recommendation for further knowledge and skills development.
Training Dates: Second half of June 2019.
Location: Jordan-Amman
Participants:
Profile and background: PTs and OTs with university bachelor level. In addition, Rehab Technical Officers (TO) with PT/OT background.
Number of participants: 8 TO HI Jordan mission staff, 10 PTs and 4 OTs Service provider with partnership with HI. Total participants are 22.
