SiTech are looking for Data Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts. The Data Engineer will be responsible for employing machine learning techniques to build better predictive algorithms while remaining familiar with dominant programming and deployment strategies in the field.
The Data Engineer will support our software developers, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Evaluate business needs and objectives and assemble massive, complex data sets that meet business requirements
• Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling
• Interpret trends and patterns
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
• Work with stakeholders including the Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
• Collaborate with data scientists and architects
• Develop analytical tools and programs that assist in building and optimizing the product
• Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
Skills and Qualifications
• BSc in, Computer Science or any related field
• 4-8 years of experience in a Data Engineer role
• Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
• A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
• Strong organizational skills
• Data engineering certification (e.g IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Experience with big data tools
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools
• Experience with stream-processing systems
• Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
