The incumbent of this post is responsible to the Fleet Management Officer. S/he will oversee efficient maintenance is provided for the transport operations in support to the Field Office operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
Plans, organizes, supervises all vehicle repairs, and maintenance work required for the Agency’s fleet, generators and water pumps through the utilization of Fleet data management systems including the Fleet Wave and Fleet Log systems, and the technical testing of vehicles, generators and water pumps before and after maintenance;
Plans and executes the preventive maintenance of the vehicle fleet, determines the maintenance/repairs required and coordinates with the Field Vehicle Control officer to ensure the appropriate schedule to maintain highest percentage of vehicles available to support optimum Field operations,
Supervises the workshop operation, oversees the preparation of proper job cards, vehicle technical inspection reports, vehicle cannibalization certificates and related administrative matters required through utilization of data sourced from the agency electronic systems;
Is responsible for determining requirements, the receipt of all motor and transport spare parts entering data into the agency electronic systems modules as required, provides the Vehicle Control Officer with technical advice on storage and ordering of all spare parts, including the advice on minimum stock holding and projected future requirements based on Fleet Wave data,
Through the use of the Fleet information systems, prepares and maintains accurate records in relation to the workshop performance; provides reports as required to the Fleet Officer and Field Logistics Officers as required to facilitate decision making and policy review,
Monitors all contracted automotive repair work to commercial maintenance or repair workshops for proper execution of work, inspects and determines the fitness of all second hand serviceable automotive spare parts after repair, Coordinates the regular and preventive maintenance programs with the Vehicle Control Officer and ensures that vehicles are reported for maintenance on time;
Conducts driving tests of all Agency staff and is responsible for the control and technical assessment of all staff in the PLD;
Drafts all correspondence related to vehicle maintenance for the Fleet Officer and Senior Logistics Officer as required;
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A university degree in mechanical engineering or in a subject related to the above functions.
At least, three years of experience in logistics and transport management related function.
· Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in working with the UN rules and regulations;
Experience in using transport management specific software or data base applications.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Possession of a valid driving license.
Equivalency
When the minimum requirements are not fully met, the concerned Director may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications, additional professional training and progressive relevant work experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination.
