Job Title:          IT Officer
Duty Station:   Amman, with extensive travel to Irbid, Karak, Ma’an
Report to:        Procurement Manager
Status:             Collaborator/Fulltime

THE ORGANIZATION:
INTERSOS is an independent Italian non-profit humanitarian organization committed to assist the victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts. Its activities are based on the principles of solidarity, justice, human dignity, equality of rights and opportunities, and respect for diversity and coexistence, paying special attention to the most vulnerable and unprotected people.
INTERSOS has been present in Jordan since 2007, with its main office in Amman and programs of activities all over the country in support of Iraqi refugees. Since 2012 Intersos is partnering with several donors, among which UNICEF, DG-ECHO and OCHA in assisting refugees from Syria and most vulnerable among Jordanian population.

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The IT Officer is responsible for all IT logistics aspects of INTERSOS Mission in Jordan, and in case of needed support from the Logistics Unit, including assets management, maintenance, procurement for the office, storage management and expeditions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Procurement Manager, the IT Officer is responsible for the IT logistics pipeline in the INTERSOS Jordan office in Amman, including but not limited to:

Manage the IT logistics aspects of the Amman Office and all Field Offices in Jordan (Amman Eats, Karak and Irbid), including the maintenance and upkeep of all  IT and office equipment, in coordination with the Logistics Unit and the other departments (Administration, Program, Human Resources);
Check the Jordan Mission IT equipment (computers, rooters, printers, internet software and different devices) regularly and provide support when requested;
Purchase and maintain (installations, backups, etc.) the IT equipment for Amman Office and the field offices;
Manages network operations including: troubleshooting connectivity problems; installing & maintaining routers; establishing e-mail; assessing and reporting operational status; performing backups and restores; etc..
Performs routine preventive maintenance on hardware and software.
Follow up on requests for office maintenance and contact suppliers to solve the issues;
In coordination with HR department, liaise with INTERSOS HQ in opening and maintaining e-mail addresses, for Amman and the field offices;
Liaise with INTERSOS HQ, in monitoring and supporting the “migration” on Google platform, and all the related IT improvements implemented by the HQ.
Liaise with the HQ in systematizing and finalizing INTERSOS Mission in Jordan Database and data collection systems and methodologies


Responsible for the management and implementation of IT procurement procedures for INTERSOS Mission in Jordan: the purchase of goods, works and services, following INTERSOS procedures and ensure that they are respected
Collect the IT purchase requests from the different departments in Amman Office, and from the different field offices, and follow the relevant procurement procedures;
Maintain regular contact with IT suppliers and ensure the quality of the IT goods/services delivered is in line with INTERSOS standards;
Prepare and manage the IT storage inventory and movement (in and out) and verify the deliveries;
Support the IT procurement of goods and the expeditions for the field offices when requested by the Procurement manager.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies;
Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
Strictly follow the  internal procedures, policies (PSEA, CPP etc.) and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
Strictly ensure and respect confidentiality clause;
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent;
At least 3 years of professional experience in IT position; previous experience in international Organizations an asset;
Previous experience and/or background in logistic is an advantage
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage efficiently multiple priorities, deadlines and tasks with attention to details;
Ability to communicate effectively with variety of people, and express oneself in a clear and concise way;
Strong communication and reporting skills;
Excellent Arabic spoken and written language skills. Very good ability to communicate and write in English;
Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure;
Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
Ability to work under high pressure.
