Background:
The Lutheran World Federation, in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, established operations in Jordan in 2012. The Lutheran World Federation is assisting refugees and vulnerable groups in Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Mafraq and Za’atari camp. The Lutheran World Federation is running projects related to Education, WASH, Livelihoods, Protection, Rehabilitation and Humanitarian Assistance.
Scope of Work:
LWF is lunching livelihood project in Irbid governorate, The Livelihood officer will report to livelihood manager, and will supervise livelihood assistants and assessor's and will lead all over project daily implementations at Irbid governorate, support team with technical guidelines to ensure implementation quality of project interventions, and to draft action plans that organize field activities. The livelihood officer will ensure community involvement at all project levels by adopting participatory approaches cope with project cycle designed activities.
PROJECT
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with livelihood Manager, and logistic team to ensure all supply request related to the project activities are timely delivered and according to procedures.
- Provide required support to the field level project team including project assistants and volunteers for timely implementation of activities
- Facilitate and in collaboration with project potential stakeholders, implementing partners and Liaise with Coops, CBOs, business owner, directorates and potential Project stakeholders
- Participate in drafting templates of project applications.
- Ensure compliance of Livelihoods activities that cope to guidelines, policies and project goals;
- Facilitation of assessments, scoring criteria's, tracking and monitoring mechanism and coordination's.
- Be the focal person for community activities FGDs, coordination, implementation of local meetings and other relevant internal and external events.
- Closely with assistants to facilitate conducting FGDs, outreach assessments activities, awareness sessions, and ensure that beneficiaries are well informed about project component's and goals and project interventions.
- Ensure regular and timely reporting, and to analyze challenges and areas of improvement, and to act in proactively jointly with team to identify solutions and overcomes actions.
- Assist in linking supported and networks to advocacy activities to organize events, meetings and to coordinate in between different stakeholders.
- Work out project locations monitoring field visits and keep ways of communication with implementation partners.
- Review and follow up regularly process, plans, activities to convenient with proposal and donor guidelines, principles and project goals.
- To act as focal person to ensure safety and security standards are met, and re-orient actions that cope with security principles procedures.
Communication
- Support in collection of case studies and beneficiary stories from the project location.
Team management
- Supervise project assistants, Assessors and volunteers at the field level
External coordination's
- As may be delegated by the Project Manager, represent LWF to the relevant sector working groups.
- As may be requested, support in facilitating field visits for external partners/LWF visitors.
Requirements:
Skills requirement
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the field of finance, income-generation programs, economic recovery/development, information technology, data entry, and/or community mobilization.
- University Degree in related field.
- INGO experience required.
- Experience working with community leaders, religious leaders and local authorities
- Demonstrated experience with capacity building and training
- Good interpersonal and team building skills
- Strong negotiation skills essential with experience in conflict resolution desirable
- Strong technical food security and Livelihood and experience.
- Experience in the food security and Livelihood in emergency and recovery response operations.
- Experience in conducting food security, Livelihood and market assessments
- Strong skills/ability to conduct data analysis
- Strong understanding of monitoring tools and approaches
- Experience working with other NGOs and local partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong liaison and diplomatic skills
- Computer skills, in particular email, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Fluency in Arabic and English
