تعلن  ICMC International Catholic Migration Commission في المفرق عن حاجتها الى :

Arabic Teacher

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:  Teaching literacy courses (in Arabic) to vulnerable Syrian women at the ICMC Protection Center, Mafraq, Jordan, to improve their literacy levels. 
Specific Objectives:
Teaching Arabic Literacy
  • Assist in the design and development of a literacy curriculum, appropriate for students with a variety of literacy levels.
  • Prepare class work plans according to the student’s specific literacy levels and needs of each class group.
  • Prepare relevant class and homework exercises; exams and assignments.
  • Teach classes in an engaging, dynamic and practical manner; in line with the agreed upon curriculum; focusing on literacy uses in daily life.
  • Firmly support students to learn in their own way, preventing drop-outs during the courses.
  • Support students to improve their literacy levels in a measured manner, through the analysis of pre and post assessments.
  • Closely monitor the progress of students through regular assessments, reporting frequently to the Project Officer on all developments and challenges.

Communication and Coordination
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Translate between English and Arabic for staff when required.
  • Preparation regular progress reports on students performance and progress; along with detailed analysis of students achievements through pre and post assessments.
  • Establish good and regular communication with ICMC staff, beneficiaries, partners and service providers.

Other
  • Conduct home visits to vulnerable individuals in rural and urban areas in order to assess their suitability to be ICMC beneficiaries through the use of a comprehensive questionnaire.
  • Strictly follow the ICMC internal procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by the supervisor.


Required Qualifications 
  • University degree in Arabic language, class room teaching or related field.
  • Minimum of three years professional teaching Arabic Literacy experience, preferably teaching Arabic or teaching adults.
  • Experience in the NGO sector is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with variety of people, and express oneself in a clear and concise way.
  • Native Arabic language speaker with excellent spoken and written English.
  • Excellent command of MS Office and other computer programs, including good typing skills.
  • Experience in working with marginalized or vulnerable populations is an asset.
  • Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
  • Ability to travel and work outside of the office.
