Marketing Director


JOB DESCRIPTION: Marketing Director
REPORTS TO: CEO
Summary: The Director of Marketing has overall responsibility for leading the marketing
function to help deliver Buffalo Wings & Rings International (BWR) strategies and objectives.
The Marketing Director must be a strong generalist who is able to effectively demonstrate
strong thought leadership and the ability to influence as well as manage the tactical
execution of the marketing plans. This individual will serve as the company’s consumer
expert and brand evangelist for BWR corporate employees, franchisees and our customers
across 10 diverse countries and markets in MENA and Europe.
In addition, this individual will be responsible for successfully developing, building, and
executing successful, customer-centric marketing (online and offline) strategies in our home
Jordan market (10 stores and growing).
This position manages 1 Local Store Marketing Manager who is responsible for managing
and executing the Jordan Market marketing strategies and tactics to increase brand
awareness, trial and loyalty to BWR.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Leads the Marketing function in developing and executing annual marketing plans
focused on generating brand awareness as well as increasing trial and loyalty.
Accountable for managing all brand asset touchpoints across all mediums including
printing of menus, promotional materials, digital and social media, loyalty programs,
PR, etc.
• Is an expert on the BWR consumer and fully understands their motivation and needs
across various eating occasions and is able to recommend appropriate actions to be
taken to enhance their experience that will result in increased trial and loyalty
• Plays a leadership role partnering with Management in setting the marketing
business objectives that ladder back up to the BWR’s strategies
• Collaborates with Management and advisory boards to continuously refine the
marketing strategies to deliver best in class marketing programs
• Accountable for managing the Marketing budget with a lens on maximizing the
dollars in an efficient and effective way to deliver superior results
• Analyzes marketing programs and provides on-going results and recommendations
to Management and advisory board
• Leads the digital media strategy and content aligned with the brand and business
goals to draw traffic to our restaurants
• Provides thought leadership in identifying business opportunities with the BWR
consumer by listening to our guest communities by monitoring dialogue and
feedback in social media outlets as well as evaluating changes in the competitive
environment and synthesizes and makes recommendations based on feedback and
insights that can be converted to business decisions
• Directs and manages all agency partners in the development and execution of
marketing plans and provides annual evaluations to all agencies
• Partners with company stores (or where BWR International holds an investment
positions in a store) and franchisees to determine how to best spend their local
marketing dollars in terms of vehicles, offers, measuring payout, promotion periods
• Leads pricing strategy and architecture and tracks competitive pricing in BWR trade
areas
• Responsible for developing surveys and other marketing tools to gather pertinent
customer information and insights relevant to the BWR experience and presenting
results and recommendations to Management
• Accountable for developing 1 direct report with appropriate training, assignments,
coaching and career planning
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,
and/or ability required.
Education/Experience:
B.A. degree in Marketing/Advertising/Business with a minimum of 7-10 years prior
marketing experience; marketing experience in the restaurant industry a plus.
People management experience and skills a plus.

To execute in this role, the individual must be a data-driven problem solver. Ability to help
continue BWR International’s operational transformation to data-centricity, working with
people, platforms, partners and processes.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data and establish facts. Ability to interpret an extensive
variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several
concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and Adobe Acrobat software.
Prior website development skills a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
One direct report.
Travel Requirements:
This position must be available to travel as needed to support department and
organization’s initiatives.
APPENDIX – OTHER RELEVANT DETAILS
The Marketing Director will build, support, and grow the Buffalo Wings and Rings Brand via
the following vital activities:
• Adhering to company image and brand standards across all markets as defined by
Management and the marketing organization
• Tailor brand positioning, brand objectives for short and long-term growth by market
place and country
• Replicate and/or tailor strategies and tactics by region to create the “BWR Cool and
Wow” factors. Examples include our wildly successful Wings & Strings events in the
Jordan market – a truly unique customer experience
• Oversee editorial calendars for digital/social media programs. Approve content and
strategy as needed. Direct programs to improve social media reputation and
recognition
• Plan and execute activities that will build relationships in the communities of all
markets
• Ensure articulation of BWR’s desired image and position. Ensure consistency
throughout the entire organization. Assure communication of image and position to
all internal and external constituencies.
The Marketing Director will be our Regional Country and Market Expert and a valued
resource to our franchisees. The Marketing Director must:
• Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends. It
is vital to understand the consumers and competition in each market; it can vary
greatly from market to market
• Be able to spot trends and act on them first, before the competition in each market
• Leverage the power of the BWR brand to be a trendsetter in each market
• Must stay well informed of all news, research, and other information that affects our
business
• Build a trusted relationship with franchisees, provide strategic marketing guidance
and play an influential role in helping franchisees best manage their local marketing
programs.
