مطلوب متدربين للمشاركة في برنامج خدمة اجتماعية بالتعاون مع منظمة ميرسي كور الدولية

تعلن منظمة ميرسي كور عن فتح باب التدريب لديها

Background:
Mercy Corps is an international humanitarian and development organization working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people build secure, productive and just communities. In Jordan, Mercy Corps has been actively working since 2002 to implement a variety of programs funded by US and European governments and private donors. The current portfolio includes programs focusing on improved water demand management, conflict mitigation and social cohesion programming, child, youth and inclusive education programming, and humanitarian relief programming.
Jordan, with one of the highest per capita refugee rates in the world, currently hosts approximately 1.4 million Syrian refugees, of which only 650,000 are officially registered with UNHCR. Although Azraq and Zaatari camps remain prominent, the vast majority of Syrian refugees live in either the urban areas of northern Jordanian governorates or in Amman.  Of these, two-thirds are living in absolute poverty.  The municipalities where these refugees reside have insufficient capacity or funding to deliver essential services and community resources, already stressed, are under additional strain. The tension created in this environment is further exacerbated by the shortage of livelihoods opportunities for either Jordanians or Syrians.
Of this conflict-affected and vulnerable population, youth represent a critical segment that requires particular attention, as their improved well-being is essential for themselves and their families, as well as the stability of the wider region. Youth and adolescence is an important time in our development as individuals, with conflict and other stressors acting as ‘derailing events’ that can lead youth down a path of exclusion, poverty or abuse, preventing the development of a generation who can articulate their opinions or make positive contributions to society. As a result, Mercy Corps focuses its programming around these derailing events, building an enabling environment that creates opportunities for psychosocial support, life skills development, community participation and livelihoods. This holistic response fosters the ability of youth to reattach back to themselves, their families and their communities.
Mercy Corps began implementing NLG programming in 2014, ensuring that activities and initiatives outlined in Nubader are grounded in evidence-based experiences and lessons learned. Strong partnerships with local, experienced CBOs are integral to successful program implementation and Mercy Corps has been working with a diversity of local partners in the implementation of the NLG, building their managerial and technical capacity through experiential learning and training, Nubader will build off of Mercy Corps’ depth of experience nurturing the development and well-being of youth in Jordan through its previous GAC-funded NLG programming.
