Support Technician II /Help Desk

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction
  2. Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  3. Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
  4. Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and on-going usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
  5. Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
  6. Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
  7. Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software.
  8. Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
  9. Troubleshooting basic network, software and printing problems.
  10. Network set-up and trouble shooting.
Education & Professional Experience
  1. Two year experience in IT support field for Diploma Degree holders in computer Science/IT
  2. One year experience in IT support field for Bachelor Degree holders in computer Science/IT
  3. Very good command of English. 
  4. Computer hardware and all types of related communication equipment.                              
  5. Good communication skills, able to understand and communicate with a wide variety of people, especially users
  6. Able to investigate, identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  7. Able to think logically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  8. Ability to work in shifts and/or outside working hours
