Driver
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Vehicle Control: Responsibility for driving, with ultimate care and security, project staff to locations where Medair implements its work and transporting project related supplies and documents to required locations.
- Communicate clearly with supervisor and team to be able to plan ahead trip route to exact destination.
- Fill trip log at beginning and end of each trip and call manager upon arrival to out-of-town destinations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Daily checks, weekly checks and general maintenance (including filling the gas-tank) and cleanness of the allocated Medair vehicle as per Medair guidelines.
- Security: General awareness of security procedures and guidelines in place; abide by them and report any security-related incidents or risks/threats to the main Base Security Focal Point (SFP).
- Keep attention to road security alerts (i.e. be informed in case of riots at specific locations).
- Management of relationship and transactions with the car rental company- pick-up of new cars, etc.
- Provide assistance with loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Be flexible, willing to assist in other areas of work as relevant and needed for this role. For example, providing assistance for base operations.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
Vocational Qualification
- Valid Driver’s licence with clean record.
- Basic mechanic training/knowledge
- Advance mechanic training / knowledge.
Work Experience - 3 years’ experience as a driver - 2 years of experience of working with NGOs.
- Experience working with beneficiaries.
- Experience with GPS navigation.
- Basic logistics management experience.
Languages
- Native Arabic speaker.
- Basic level of spoken English, and be able to read basic English instructions.

JOB COMMITMENT
Working Location:
Based in Amman, regularly driving to potentially to all Governorates of Jordan.
Starting date: ASAP
Duration of commitment:
Initial contract duration till the end of May 2019, probation period of 3 months with an extension depending on project funding.
