A multidiscipline agricultural projects company in Jordan is hiring a project manager with experience managing various agricultural activities to provide support to the company's growing portfolio of agriculture, agribusiness, food security and economic growth development projects. S/he should have at least 7 years of local / regional development work experience, of which 3 years were spent working in Jordan.
Duties include:
- 1.Design and implementation of project activities including the development of work plans, recruitment of personnel, daily operations, maintenance activities, procurement and management of Activity Teams.
- 2.Assuring quality control of project activities, including supporting fielded teams, reviewing work deliverables, and providing value-added feedback.
- 3.Conduct research and development research reports, technical notes and related project activities.
- 4.Analyze technical activities related to cultivation inclusive of fertigation, pest management and control, crop management, irrigation management and reflect all these activity analysis on work plans, budgets and daily control.
- 5.Management and control of project budgets and activity resources as well as projects contracts.
- 6.Maintain positive relationships with partners, suppliers, employees, local relative association and clients.
- 7.Supervision, training and management of junior staff. Mentoring and development of junior staff.
- 8.Contributions to corporate systems and procedures development, support of the senior management, and willingness to support the improvement of office and projects as a whole.
- 9.Drafting progress reports, task lists, MIS reports, mapping, operational reports and annual staff evaluations.
This position, requires experience in:
- 1.Technical skills and experience in the areas of agriculture, agribusiness and/or economic growth. Agriculture background is highly desired.
- 2.Demonstrated experience in project management of local contracts.
- 3.Demonstrated experience responding to procurements including recruitment, technical writing and budgeting.
- 4.Knowledge of local regulations and contract administration.
- 5.Ability to develop and implement trainings and workshops, and/or conduct assessments and evaluations of projects highly desired.
- 6.Native Arabic speaker with Professional English speaking level.
- 7.Master's degree in related area strongly preferred.
Candidate must be able to work independently and as a team member, and meet tight date-lines and working across cultures. In addition, demonstrated writing capabilities are required. Ability to travel and work regionally is also required.
