1-Field Researcher
Project Background:
Integrity seeks Field Researchers with experience conducting qualitative data collection in Jordan for a four-month study examining community resilience.
Role Description:
The Field Researchers will collect qualitative data throughout Jordan for a four-month research study. Reporting to the Area Manager, the Field Researchers will work both independently and in pairs.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Establishing and maintaining relationships with necessary stakeholders in data collection communities.
· Following the Data Collection Schedule by travelling to those communities to conduct research.
· Arranging, organising, and conducting qualitative research in the selected communities, including Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions, using SmartPhones and data collection tools such as KoBo.
· Maintaining daily contact with the Area Manager in order to provide updates on the research progress and any changes to the local security environment.
· Ensuring data is collected in a conflict- and gender-sensitive manner, and that it is kept secure and confidential.
· Ensuring all data is digitized before it is sent to the Area Managers.
· Assisting the Area Managers with other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
· Fluency in Arabic and strong English skills.
· At least two years’ experience conducting research and data collection in Jordan or a related field (for example, journalism).
· Experience in cross-checking and triangulating information from various sources.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Good knowledge of data collection tools and ITC systems.
· Strong local networks and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of local stakeholders
2- Area Coordinator
Project Background:
Integrity seeks an Area Manager with experience in managing field teams for a four-month study examining community resilience in Jordan.
Role Description:
Reporting to the Research Team Lead, the Area Manager will be responsible for the line management, training, monitoring and day-to-day security of 6 Field Researchers located throughout Jordan. The Area Manager will also assist in the analysis of data from the field.
Responsibilities:
· Manage a team of Field Researchers collecting data throughout Jordan.
· Lead the Field Researcher training and field testing, with support from the Senior Analyst, Technical Advisor, and Team Lead.
· Manage and coordinate field work: specifically daily movement of the field researchers; workplan; risk management in the field; and local stakeholder coordination and engagement.
· Support the recruitment and vetting of all Field Researchers.
· Plan sites for data collection, secure access to sites through the appropriate authorities.
· With support from the Senior Analyst, organize, clean, and analyse field data.
· Be the focal point for the duty of care of all Field Researchers, act as the team focal point for incident responses and crisis management.
Skills and experience profile
· Arabic fluency and English working proficiency.
· Previous experience managing field teams in primary data collection efforts in Jordan.
· Strong understanding of the Jordanian context.
· Experience in qualitative research methodologies.
· Good knowledge of ITC, including Excel and remote data collection tools such as KoBo.
