Counter-trafficking Project Assistant

Open to Internal and external Candidates

 Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Emergency Coordinator and overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Amman - Jordan and in close coordination with the Emergency team, the selected candidate will be responsible for the counter-trafficking portfolio and will be responsible for the coordination, implementation and monitoring of counter trafficking activities of IOM Jordan.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
1. Assist with planning, preparing and adjusting all aspects of the counter trafficking portfolio including project work plans, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools, and arrangements required for the effective implementation of programmatic activities.
2. Coordinate the assessments intended under the counter trafficking program and assist in conducting and drafting them, under the supervision of the Migration Management Officer and the experts hired under the projects.
3. Provide trainings and awareness raising on human trafficking when needed, both internally and externally.
4. Maintain updates on trends and policy developments, international standards and best practices relating to counter-trafficking.
5. Contribute to the development and drafting of new concept notes, projects and reports focusing on counter trafficking.
6. Assist the migration management officer in building, coordinating and maintaining partnerships with project/programme partners and other relevant stakeholders, such as Government entities, civil society organizations, UN agencies.
7. Organize workshops, training sessions, conferences and round tables and maintain records of all aspects of these activities.
8. Conduct case management activities for victims of trafficking and exploited migrants and follow-up on the status of the case from creation until closure.
9. Coordinate with relevant IOM Units and Missions as required.
10. Liaise with IOM staff members on admin/logistic/operations matters to support program activities. 
11. Perform such other duties as may be assigned and take up travel on duty as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience
• University degree with at least four years of relevant professional experience or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.
• Diploma degree with at least Six years of relevant professional experience or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.
• Supplemental courses/technical certificates in counter trafficking.
• professional experience working with specialized international agencies (UN Agencies, International Organisations, and International NGOs) advantageous.
Languages

Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
