Finance Director Amman - Jordan M/F

MSF France is running since 2006 a comprehensive reconstructive surgery program for victims of conflicts from neighbouring countries in Amman, Jordan. These activities include transfer of patients from their country of origin (Yémen, Iraq, Syrians in Jordan, gaza), surgery (plastic, orthopaedics and maxillo-facial), physiotherapy, psycho-social care and food & accommodation.
The project is located in Al Mowasah Hospital, 148 beds, 8 floors; 200-250 patients present including hotels and flats
There are approximately 60 IPD admissions per month and 800 consultations per month, around 220 patients presents in Amman.

Main objectives and responsibilities of the position:
Under the management of the Hospital Director, the Finance Director is responsible for the overall financial performance of the Hospital and of the efficacy and transparency in its daily cash and budgetary management. The Finance Director is part of the management team and he/she is a key player in the implementation of strategic activities in Al Mowasah Hospital.
Main tasks of this position:
  • In charge of the elaboration of the budget and its follow-up;
  • Advises other departments on monitoring and budget compliance;
  • In collaboration with the different department, prepares monthly cash request that accurately reflects the expenditure needs of the following month;
  • Maintains an effective system of accounting according to MSF policies;
  • Prepares reports for management outlining the hospital’s financial position in all areas based on past, present and future operations, including analysis of variance according to the budget;
  • Presents recommendations to hospital management with respect to costs, charges, rates, etc., to improve efficiency;
  • Implements cost control strategy;
  • Collaborates with the direction team in the analysis of opportunities for sub-contracting, acquisitions of new equipment, and any other strategic decision that may have a financial impact;
  • Creates written financial rules and regulations in order to improve general management of resources and accountability;
  • Facilitates organizational strategic planning, prioritization, and resource allocation processes;
  • Participates in contracts’ drafting and verification before signature;
  • Ensures a monthly follow-up file for all project contracts;
  • Manages the finance department team.
PROFILE
  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related area is required
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in management or leadership positions is required
  • Experiences in a humanitarian context and/or in a healthcare institution are strong assets
  • Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
  • Excellent skills in : planning, organizing and managing
Languages:
  • Fluent English (oral and written) required 
  • Arabic/ French an asset

Status:
WORK LOCATION: Amman – Al Mowasah Hospital
CONTRACT: Fixed term contract – Full Time – 1 year
