Position Summary
Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or Associate Director, Clinical Research Core on sponsored research projects, the Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) collects, receives, maintains and organizes study data related to clinical studies.
Job Responsibilities
Inputs and maintains clinical data into the central electronic clinical research database. Creates and maintains paper files as required. Assists with preparing IRB submissions.
Coordinates with junior CRCs to conduct clinical trial visits when needed. Obtains informed consent under minimal supervision of the investigator(s) and acquires clinical specimens and data as required by the protocol(s).
Works with lab technicians and investigators in preparing requested specimens to be available and reporting on specimen amounts. Liaises with clinical sites and WCM-Q.
Reviews and compares the source documents with electronic input. Ensures accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews and review of junior CRC study binders.
Responsible for tracking and maintenance of portable electronic devices daily.
Responsible for understanding the workflow of Clinical Research Coordinators to ensure a seamless data flow. Assists in identifying gaps in workflow.
Assists with oversight of tracking and maintaining orders on inventory and disposal of material related to studies.
Attends meetings regularly with CRCs, investigators and senior staff. Coordinates preparation of data, reports and summaries for meetings as requested.
Familiar with running study related equipment. Assists senior staff with training junior CRCs in running study related equipment. Coordinates vacations, etc with other team members to ensure smooth workflow.

Education
Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Intermediate to advanced computer experience required for data entry and troubleshooting.
Three or more years prior experience in operation/calibration/maintenance on analytical laboratory equipment an advantage.
Basic written and/or spoken Arabic language skills an advantage.
Advanced computer skills desirable.

Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in both scientific written reports and professional presentations.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Work is approximately 80% computer based, 20% clinical and lab based OR 50% computer based, 50% clinical and lab based.
Work may include obtaining biological materials, using chemical substances requiring careful use and the use of protective devices and clothing.
May require extended and varying work hours to meet demands.
Must be able to lift 10 lbs unaided.
