Job Title

DIRECTOR, NETWORK STRATEGY AND PARTNERSHIP

Director, MENA Network Strategy and Partnerships is responsible for growing share of switched transactions and enrich them with our services in MENA division. 

This role will maintain overall responsibility for driving business development efforts for switches and third party processors and will work closely with the account teams, country managers, government relationship managers and Regional Lead of Network Solutions to identify opportunities and sell applicable solutions. 

The individual applies deep knowledge of the card processing industry and leverages the global, integrated MasterCard products and platforms to grow revenues while meeting strategic objectives.   

This is a customer-facing role, requiring business development skills in addition to product expertise, and reports to the Head of Market Development – Mena. The role is based out of Mastercard office in Amman, Jordan.

II. Role

Serve as the expert for the domestic switching and processing segments to identify and understand the opportunities, challenges and potential partner priorities to establish mutually beneficial partnerships/commercial relationships. 

Work closely with account managers of these customers as well as the larger teams of products and services to achieve objectives

Provide continual and timely education to the broader team.

Develop a country and division level strategy for switched transactions with account managers 

Prioritize business development efforts and sell-in strategies to support short, medium and long term objectives. 

Manages RFP response process to ensure well crafted and relevant solutions for prospects

Partners with product teams to guide product enhancements designed to support new revenue

III. All about You

In depth understanding of the payments industry, with good understanding of network and processing technology 

Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and maintain high quality relationships with government officials and c-level executives 

Understand business and market dynamics, Mastercard’s product and service specifications and applications, and your customers’ strategies and needs in order to identify opportunities and design tailored solutions which meet the customer’s needs

Provide insightful viewpoints on Mastercard platforms, products and services, explain to customers how they can leverage Mastercard’s offerings for their own business needs and communicate complex technological concepts with clarity and conviction

Negotiation style delivering win-win outcomes for MasterCard and customers

Demonstrated leadership and management skills

Excellent organization skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities

Strong analytical, project management and team working skills - ability to identify issues and proactively resolve issues directly or through escalation to appropriate Partners/stakeholders.

Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills - excellent writing and presentation skills, extensive experience in communicating in an international environment at senior management level.

Ability to partner with key stakeholders both internal and external, across functions and regions
