ICT Manager

The European Commission’s European Civil protection and Humanitarian aid Operations (ECHO), funds relief operations
for victims of natural disasters and conflicts outside the European Union. For humanitarian aid, the Commission works with
about 200 operational partners, including United Nation agencies, the Red Cross/Crescent movement and non-governmental
organizations (NGOs). Aid is channelled impartially, straight to victims, regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion,
gender, age, nationality or political affiliation.
The ECHO Regional Office in Amman, which is covering the ME region; is seeking to recruit one national staff to be based
in Amman for the following position of:

ICT Manager
Reference: ICT 2019-03

As a part of the Jordan country team, the ICT Manager will oversee all ICT services in the ME region, ensuring that
operation of systems and network administration (LAN, WAN and internet connectivity) is stable. This includes
installation, configuration, maintenance, support and optimisation of all hardware, network, software and
communication links. The ICT Manager will also solve the end-user software problems in a timely and accurate,
and provide training to the end user when necessary.
The candidates for this position need to demonstrate the following criteria:

Education:

  • A relevant First level university degree or equivalent professional experience;
Knowledge and Experience:
  •  Minimum of 5 years relevant experience at national or international level in ICT technical areas;
  • Good knowledge of ICT equipment and systems;
  •  High-level skill in relevant software and hardware;
  •  Previous experience with a multilateral or international organization is helpful but not mandatory;
  •  Team-spirit;
  •  Flexibility to travel to all the countries included in the region;
  • Ability and willing to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Languages:
  • An excellent knowledge of English (verbal & writing);
  • An excellent knowledge of Arabic (verbal & writing).

This is a local posting for nationals open to other residents of Jordan with a valid work and residence permit. The contract
is initially for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to a 6 months’ probationary period. As an indication, the
monthly basic salary is on average approximately JOD 1,647 which corresponds to 5 years relevant work experience. The salary will be adapted according to the exact duration of relevant professional experience supported by a work certificate. In addition to this, the employee will also receive disability/retirement allowance, 13 th month salary, family allowance as well as
a medical coverage.
