1- English Language Program Officer


Position Overview:
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the English Language (EL) Program Manager, the English Language Program Officer is primarily responsible for the development and management of AMIDEAST’s on and off site and in house training programs for Jordan’s various branches of military and security, both in coordination with the Program Coordinator and Program Manager. The officer manages ongoing programs both in and outside of Amman as well as assists the Program Manager to grow and develop business contacts and programs in new areas related to Jordan’s military and security entities. The officer also assists the Program Manager in the development of proposals and budgets for requested programs, visits program sites and conducts program and trainer quality assurance.

Role and responsibilities
Tasks and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Closely handles the implementation of military language and training programs on behalf of AMIDEAST;
• Monitors program progress, review trainer reports, ensures program outputs are in line with previously agreed objectives to the satisfaction of the client;
• Managing day to day communications with designated representatives of AMIDEAST and military contacts;
• Preparing grade sheets, reporting matrix and trainer selection for military programs, both on and off site;
• Conducting periodic QA visits to program sites, recommending actions to management, if any;
• Assist in developing program budgets and proposals as requested by the Program Manager;
• Assists in the development, continuation and expansion of relevant military programs, based on departmental plans and program performance;
• Contributes in the creation of new course offerings, the development of tailored curricula, and the selection of appropriate assessment means;
• Supports in developing systems for program and student tracking and monitoring;
• Collaborates closely with other departments along with external relations to promote English Language products and services;
• Scheduling, assignment and follow up on all AMIDEAST program assignments related to military and security;
• Coordinate with department colleagues on trainer assignments and schedules;
• Prepare contract requests in coordination with Program Coordinator and Senior Program Officer for all teachers;
• Conduct orientation for trainers new to military programs and courses;
• Evaluate feedback gathered by evaluations and recommend improvements/adjustments to management;
• Conduct Fed checks on prospective instructors;
• Prepare program reports as required;
• Any other work-related tasks requested by supervisor(s).

 Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in administration, education, or any relevant discipline;
• A minimum of (2) years of experience in Programs/projects;
• Excellent communication skills;
• English language proficiency is required;
• Previous experience in Jordan Armed Forces and familiarity with military operating procedure in Jordan is preferred;
• Proficiency in Arabic is required;
• Knowledge of the EL Program communities;
• A high level of proficiency with office productivity tools, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel;
• Very good organizational skills;
• Ability to work within a team environment;
• Proactive and flexible, able to adapt to challenging program circumstances.

2-  English Language Program Assistant- 3-months

Position Overview:
AMIDEAST Jordan is seeking a motivated and self-driven Program Assistant to join the team at their offices in Amman, Jordan. The Program Assistant will be responsible for administrating the English Language and Access Micro scholarship programs providing the administrative, logistic, technical and clerical support of processes, activities and workflow, along with assisting in the development and management of AMIDEAST’s on and off site corporate programs. Also, ensuring the smooth enrollment of corporate employees into AMIDEAST’s public English courses all in coordination with the department team members, in addition to assisting the Program Manager in the development of proposals and budgets for requested corporate programs, visiting program sites and conducting program and trainer quality assurance.


1Role and responsibilities:
• Coordinate with Program instructors and trainers on class grades, attendance, materials and milestone documents;
• Perform administrative tasks such as certificate printing, service and material procurements and data collection as requested by the English Language Program Manager and/or Program Coordinator;
• Communicate and coordinate frequently, accurately, and responsibly with AMIDEAST’s office in Amman and program staff;
• Exhibit behavior and communications that reflect AMIDEAST’s goals of strengthening partnerships and understanding;
• Attend and support Access Program’s community service events, opening or closing ceremonies, enhancement or summer camps meetings or other events as required by the Program Coordinator or Program Manager;
• Assist AMIDEAST staff  in preparing statistical and narrative reports about all program or class activities and results; 
• Follow AMIDEAST’s standard operating procedures;
• Follow up daily on the call log sheet and respond to customer requests or deliver requests to the relevant department or position.
• Managing day to day communications with designated representatives of AMIDEAST’s corporate clients;
• Preparing grade sheets, reporting matrix and trainer selection for corporate programs, both on and off site;
• Assist in developing English Language Program budgets and proposals as requested by the Program Manager;
• Assists in the development and expansion of relevant English Language programs, based on departmental plans;
• Contributes in the creation of new course offerings, the development of tailored curricula, and the selection of appropriate assessment means;
• Collaborates closely with other departments along with external relations to promote English Language Program’s products and services;
• Coordinate with Senior Program Officer and Program Coordinator on trainer assignments and schedules;
• Prepare contract requests in coordination with Program Coordinator and Senior Program Officer for all trainers;
• Conduct background checks on prospective trainers;
• Procuring transportation for AMIDEAST trainers to off-site programs via AMIDEAST standard operating procedures (SOPs);
• Following up on grading and reporting for corporate programs as agreed in approved proposals.
• Conducting periodic quality assurance (QA) visits to program sites, recommending actions to English Language Program Manager, if any;
• Maintain accurate and up to date filing and records in compliance with the requirements pre-set;
• Perform any other AMIDEAST work-related duties requested by the Program Manager and/or Country Director.

2Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field,
• Proficiency in Arabic and English,
• Computer literacy in MS Office,
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities,
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills,
• Must possess problem-solving skills, be a team player and a self-starter,
• Cross-cultural sensitivity and customer service orientation,
• Availability for travel both within and outside Jordan.
