1- Orthopaedic Surgeon
CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman and is seeking Orthopedic Surgeon.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Orthopedic surgeon is responsible to specialized in correction of skeletal abnormalities, utilizing surgical, medical, and physical methodologies and insure oversight and training of a Surgeon assistants, according to MSF procedures, protocols and guidelines.
PROFILE
- University bachelor degree in Medicine, and formal and recognized post graduate training in surgery specialty.
- Registration with Jordan Medical Association, License from Jordan Ministry of Health are required.
- At least 2 years’ experience as Orthopedic Surgeon, war surgery an advantage.
- Jordanian nationality.
- Multi-cultural flexibility or experience.
- Team player and open minded.
- Communication and interpersonal skills and good team spirit.
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required.
WORK LOCATION: Amman – Al Mowasah Hospital.
CONTRACT: Fixed term contract – Full Time – 6 months with possibility of extension.

2- Social Worker
CONTEXT

Médecins Sans Frontières is running a reconstructive surgery program in Amman and is seeking a Social Worker.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out all social-related activities, in order to ease the patient’s situation, to maximize his/her adherence to treatment and to improve his/her psychosocial condition.
- Identify social needs of patients through a social assessment. Respond to the patient’s social needs, according to the scope of the project, by giving direct social support (as transport, food, legal advice,…) and/or refer to other social actors, in order to actively contribute to the improvement of their quality of living.
- Contact patients to follow up the evolution of their condition when needed (home visits, defaulter tracing)
- Participate in the creation of any material needed for the activities of social workers.
- Mapping and regular update of social partners, local authorities, other NGOs, and governmental social services in order to improve social services scope and responsiveness.
- Keep records, statistic and files updated, reporting any social activity, in order to prioritize and develop appropriate programs or projects.
PROFILE
- University bachelor degree in Social Work is required.
- Two years minimum in a similar role with other Non-Governmental Organizations is preferred; experience with MSF is desirable.
- Jordanian nationality.
- Organized, flexible, able to work under pressure.
- Communication skills and good team spirit.
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required.
