1- Senior Protection Officer

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Organize the development of initial care plan with focus on any immediate safety concerns.
  2. Monitor on-going care plan development with special attention to safety issues and stabilizing the family from the effects of domestic violence.
  3. Establish long-term goals in case planning, which can include family stability.
  4. Establish short-term goals and include steps to address safety and immediate family stability.
  5. Ensure that all care plan activities have time lines and support services.
  6. Coordinate the provision of social services to patients, families, and significant others to enable these parties to deal with the impact of illness on individual family functioning and to achieve maximum benefits from healthcare services.
  7. Serve as a client Advocate.
  8. Enhance a collaborative relationship to maximize the client’s and family’s ability to make informed decisions.
  9. Conduct review for appropriate utilization of services from admission through discharge/termination.
  10. Evaluate client satisfaction and quality of care provided.
  11. Ensure involvement of local authorities, community leaders, and community groups in creating community network which increase access to better health and social services for vulnerable population of Jordan.

  1. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management staff as required.
  2. Perform other job-related duties as requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • University degree in Psychology, sociology or Social Work.  
  • Substantial experience in the field of protection.
  • Ability to identify the main gaps in protection in the given context to inform a holistic response.
  • Commitment to and understanding of child rights, RI’s aims, values and principles and humanitarian standards as Sphere Charter and Code of Conduct.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in using established inter-agency standards and guidelines in child protection.
  • Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection.
  • Self-awareness and proven ability to operate successfully in different cultural environments.
  • Ability to achieve results and maintain consistent high standards of professional behavior and achievement, including when working alone.
  • Good team leader and team member skills, including the ability to be part of and organize, support, manage and develop a team.
  • Ability to communicate and maintain appropriate and productive relations with a range of actors, including children, parents, local and national authorities in political and militarily sensitive environments.
  • Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach
  • Ability to manage stress, flexible and accommodating in difficult and frustrating working circumstance.
  • Computer literate.

2-  Protection Officer

Essential Position Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Work closely with all RI departments and relevant stakeholders to ensure protection considerations are mainstreamed throughout all aspects of the program
  • Provide technical support to staff and teachers implementing a range of protection (child labor and violence against children), and psychosocial activities in program locations with an emphasis on quality
  • As applicable, support interventions targeting working children and ensure linkages with other stakeholders to respond the issue
  • Ensure quality standards are met in protection interventions
  • Building capacity of staff on protection action planning for protection committees and child clubs
  • Building capacity of staff on protection monitoring, referral and skills in dealing with children.
  • Act as referrals focal point for RI’s program, manage, track and refer cases.
  • Maintain strong coordination with other sectors to ensure the integrated programming and mainstreaming protection.
  • Help to ensure Standard Operating Procedures to refer cases for protection and GBV are used by staff
  • Uses results from the MEAL system to inform current and future interventions
  • Ensure adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures
  • Participates in the Child Protection relevant meetings and working groups
  • Undertake any other task assigned by supervisor

3- Field Coordinator

Position Summary
The Field Coordinator will play pivotal role in leading the implementation of RI's Educational programs in the camp. He/She will coordinate programme implementation by supporting program planning and monitoring, managing operational aspects, capacity building, providing staff coordination and resolving site-level implementation issues. He/she will be responsible for overall efficient and effective functioning of educational activities in seven RI centers in the camp.
Position Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure efficient implementation of education projects in the camp in line with the approved project proposals and budgets as well as anticipating issues and suggested solutions to the Program Manager to ensure adjustments are made to facilitate high quality service provision in line with program strategies.
  • Coordinate senior site-level programme and operational team staff to develop detailed work-plans and follow-up regularly with team members to ensure that activities are on track.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new strategies and activities to enhance programme delivery in line with the identified needs of the beneficiaries and camp community.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activities, ensuring RI standards are in place and with flagging of any concerns to the Education Program Manager.
  • Support and strengthen community and learner feedback mechanisms which enhance their active engagement and participation.
  • Regularly provide written programmatic reports and contribute to the preparation of status and progress reports.
  • Promote positive centers and team environment promoting and leading internal communications and collaboration across multiple sub-teams.
  • Facilitate recruitment of staff, staff supervisions and performance evaluations in line with RI HR procedures.
  • Develop and lead trainings to educational team members, partners and the wider RI team in line with capacity building plans and expertise as well as identifying training gaps.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.
  • Promote child protection and gender mainstreaming and ensure their implementation in the field.
  • Work closely with logistics staff to ensure operations at centers are smooth and efficient.
  • Represent RI, in collaboration with the Program Manager, with peer agencies, partner organizations, government agencies, public services, community leaders, parent groups and other stakeholders.
  • Arrange and support donor field visits.
  • Lead on tasks associated with RI centers' maintenance, functioning and expansion.
  • Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and requirements:
Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education/Social Work/Youth development or similar field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years in a senior management position.   
  • Experience working with children and youth.
  • Experience in adolescent and youth work.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, managerial and communication skills.
  • Previous managerial experience in the NGO sector, especially in refugee camp, will be a distinctive asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and strategic planning skills required, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues and partners.
  • Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • High level of creativity and coordination.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
  • Information and computer literacy (MS Office package).
