Staff reporting to this post:  Managerially to lead all staff in Ramtha ,Technically considering the technical and budget holder management for projects.

ORGANISATIONAL PURPOSE:
Islamic Relief Jordan is a country branch of Islamic Relief Worldwide. Islamic Relief Worldwide is an internationally recognized charity (Charity No.: 328158), looking back on nearly 30 years of experience in humanitarian and developmental aid. It was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, UK, in response to the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. Since then, Islamic Relief has grown into a charity that is active worldwide, putting development projects, emergency aid, and rebuilding projects into action in over 28 countries around the world.
Islamic Relief Jordan (IRJ) began its operations in 1997 with orphan’s sponsorship, sponsoring hundreds of orphans living in Jordan. IRJ extended its programs to seasonal projects with Ramadan and Qurbani distributions and In-Kind donations. IRJ has established strong partnership with international non-governmental organization and local one’s strengthening the overall response to the Syria crisis. At the onset of Syria humanitarian crisis in late 2011, IRJ provided emergency response to those affected by violence in Syria and has since then scaled up its capacity and operations with number of 110 staff across the country.
Job Purpose: 
This is an additional responsibility to your current roles, keeping the current projects directly lead by you.IRJ is looking to improve field offices and increase the staff capacities in the field. This vision is coming through creating space and empowering for field offices in line with the main office. This reallocation will be through deploying field coordinator in Mafraq and Ramtha offices, in addition to deploying admin and logistics assistant / officer who will be directly reporting to this post and supporting in improving field office work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assume primary responsibility for daily project management and implementation, and ensure compliance with the project donor agreement.
  2. Responsible for the implementation and supervision of the project overall activities; receiving inventory, improvement, vender monitoring, donor reporting and communication.
  3. Monitor project implemented activities in the field and make sure that all the goals & objectives are achieved.
  4. Follow up with the admin and logistics assistant to provide supplies of the field office.
  5. Responsible to attend sector meetings and any other stakeholder meetings as requested
  6. Draft the concept notes, and budgets as needed and share them with programs development department
  7. Draft the projects’ reports and updates as per donors’ requirements
  8. Provide data for new projects initiatives for programs development departments
  9. Ensuring well organized and safe filing for the projects files and data.
  10. Conduct monthly meeting with the field office staff.
  11. Follow up on any needs assessment and studies as necessary.
  12. Follow up with field team for implementation with referring to the line manager as per each project.
  13. Responsible to manage projects implemented in each field office with reference and respect to the budget holder. 
  14. Responsible to distribute the items in line with donor and Islamic Relief policy.
  15. Maintain effectively communication system and ensure information flow between project and relevant parties
  16. Responsible for supervising projects in progress and ensures that all issues related to the projects are clarified and completed to avoid confusion and interruption during execution of projects.
  17. Keep track of all activities, and ensure that all activities are in line with plans, in order to meet up with deadlines.
  18. Effectively managing for the staff and ensure staff satisfaction.
  19. To ensure the accuracy of information provided for the line manager. 
  20. To participate in sectorial working groups meetings. Establish network with other NGO’s and CBO’s.
  21. To expedite the payment process to the beneficiaries and ensure the payments are made on time.
  22. Responsible for staff attendance at the field office and managerial performance.
  23. Responsible to refer to the technical manager and budget holder for projects staff.
  24. Providing support to the field staff
  25. Maintain good relationship with other budget holders and ensure smooth workflow.
  26. Fulfill any other tasks appointed by the Programs Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years professional experience NGO’s sector, preferably in team leading position.
  • University degree in social work, management, engineering or any related fields of study.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel.
  • Positive and energetic attitude with "can do" mentality and willingness to perform highly demanding as well as menial tasks with equal zeal and enthusiasm.
  • Experience in project financial and procurement management.
  • Experience in data management and distributions.
  • Experience in staff management, capacity building and training of workers.
SKILLAND COMPETENCE: All are required unless marked (D) as desired.
Technical skills and experience:
  • Strong experience in project management and supervision.
  • Proven expertise and understanding of emergency preparedness and response issues with a relevant technical competence in emergency needs assessment and implementation.
  • Good field experience in emergency and development programme management, preferably with non-government organizations.
Core humanitarian competencies:
  • Understanding of humanitarian contexts and principles:
  • Good understanding of humanitarian issues, with experience of/or ability to work directly with local NGOs or communities.
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives of organization and a commitment to humanitarian principles and the Red Cross and INGO's code of conduct.

  • Very good time management abilities.
