Job background:

The purpose of this job is to hire Music teacher.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The main role of the Music Teacher is based on implementing and teaching students according to the International Baccalaureate curriculum. The following bullets briefly explain main duties and responsibilities of the job that is not limited to:

Create appropriate learning engagements and creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
Motivate students to perform at their best through differentiated instructions and using varieties of styles.
Collaborating with other teachers to contribute students’ success.
Contribute to the enrichment of learning engagements.
Monitor students’ performance to enhance their understanding and master skills.
Communicate regularly and constructively with students and parents.
Use teaching methods engaging students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation and resources.
Set high expectations for student’s behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships.
Any other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

University degree in Music.
At least 5 years of experience in teaching.
Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities & techniques related to teaching music at the required level.
PYP, MYP, DP experience is a plus.
Strong foundation in classroom management.

Being creative and proactive (Engaging actively, moving forward and looking to the future).
Strong service orientation, flexibility and understanding of different school stakeholders’ needs is essential.
Presentation skills and ability to speak in public in confidence.

Job Description

French Teacher Middle School

Job Title:

Middle School French Language& Literature Teacher



Scope and purpose of the job:

In order to fill this role effectively, the successful candidate will need to have a diverse range of qualities, competencies and experience. He/she should be an outstanding teacher, learner, motivator and communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills in order to provide professional expertise, and high quality teaching and learning. Moreover, he/she should be adaptable, creative and innovative and should be able to collaborate with colleagues in the division and in the school.



The role assumes professional responsibility for providing, leading and facilitating diverse and effective learning experiences using a range of methods in a supportive and positive climate across the secondary school. The successful candidate should be an adaptable and inspiring educator, with the ability to deliver a coherent, balanced, integrated, inquiry-based programme and should be capable of preparing students for international programmes in a stimulating, challenging and well-organised learning environment.

 Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Teach Middle School  Language Literature classes
Work independently and collaboratively to design and refine curriculum
Design, prepare and deliver a high quality curriculum for grades within the middle school framework to suit the individual needs of all students
Nurture meaningful relationships with students and provide the individual attention they need
Stay current with the curriculum
Maintain records of student work and progress through Learning/Language Profiles
Contribute to the enrichment of learning engagements
Monitor ongoing progress and assess Language Literature students
Monitor students’ performance to enhance their understanding and master skills
Monitor students’ progress through effective assessment
Communicate regularly and constructively with students
Set high expectations for student’s behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well focused teaching and through positive and productive relationships
Prepare students for DELF A1, A2 & B1 exams.
Other responsibilities

Participate in the school’s staff development program
Work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school
Communicate, where necessary with parents and external bodies, following school policies
Attend Open Evenings, workshops, Student-Led Conferences
Attend trainings and stay current with all relevant changes to the curriculum
Take on the responsibilities of a Year Coordinator or a Homeroom teacher upon request


Qualifications:

University degree in French Language and Literature, Languages or Teaching French (or equivalent)
Native French speaker or fluency and competency in both written and spoken French
Computer skills at a level that permits creative use of technology in the classroom
Key competencies:

Demonstrate professionalism, commitment, integrity, strength of character and perseverance
Committed to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
Able to prepare reports, worksheets and deliver oral presentations
Excellent planning, coordinating, organizing and analyzing abilities are essential
