 Position                         : Jordanian Technical Expert
Reports to                     : Operations Manager
Employment Type        : Consultancy (Daily, Part time, Full time)
Employment Category        : Fixed term-12 months (1 April 2020 – 31 March 2021)
Location                        : Amman

Project Overview
Siren is a not for profit organization working on security sector reform and broader public sector reform. Siren bases its projects on root cause analysis and implements solutions in light of findings and recommendations. Those projects often involve public sector administration process mapping, analysis, optimization and automation as well as related training and documentation. www.sirenassociates.com
Technical Expertise  
The Technical Expert will either lead and/or support various project components, and manage technical deliverables as instructed by the Operations Manager or Team Leads. This may include deliverable tracking, stakeholder management and other related responsibilities. Technical areas include the following:
  1. Community engagement
  2. Child protection
  3. SGBV
  4. Policing with community
  5. Organizational Capacity Building
  6. Social Behavior Change Communications (SBCC)
  7. Gender and Youth Advocacy
  8. Survivor centered approach for victims
  9. Research, Analysis, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (RAMEL)
  10. Social Media and other communication outreach
  11. IT (particularly experience managing projects designing smart phone applications and websites)
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in dealing with vulnerable people, particularly refugees, and working in host communities;
  • Advanced degree in relevant field and / or minimum 10 years’ experience (different levels of experience required);
  • Strong ability to plan and attention to detail;
  • Evidence being good team player/member;
  • Experience in working with international organisation, NGOs, public sector, and ideally with refugee communities;
  • Able to communicate competently and confidently orally and in writing in both English and Arabic with a range of different audiences (including government officials, local community groups, external consultants of different nationalities);
  • Good command of Microsoft Office;
  • Strong Networking skills in difficult environments;
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills;
  • IT skills (particularly experience in managing projects, designing smart phone applications and websites).
