Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
- Recruit, supervise, and coach a cross-functional team, including the active support and development of junior engineers. Monitor objectives for your teams to align with sprint goals and priorities.
- Be a significant, hands-on contributor to the team to plan, design, and develop new products and features.
- Deliver code with exceptional quality and security that operates at scale.
- Perform code reviews, retrospectives, and manage the acceptance of Pull Requests using Git.
- Collaborate with product owners and QA to bring to life amazing new features and games.
- Coach your team in engineering best practices.
- Coach your team on Agile practices, including Daily Scrums, retrospectives, planning, and grooming sessions, to operate and thrive as a high-performing team.
- Ensure that systems your team creates comply with engineering best practices, including security, operations, and architectural requirements.
Qualifications
- You have a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, web applications, and microservices-based software architecture.
- 5 to 8 years of professional experience in software development.
- You have demonstrated experience (2+ years) leading & managing software and test engineers working in a cross-functional, Agile software development lifecycle practice.
- You have deep experience with unit testing and successfully releasing software and apps in a continuous integration model.
- You enjoy leading and working in an Agile environment focused on continuous improvement.
- You have a strong desire to collaborate and provide coaching & mentorship to software and test engineers.
- You have demonstrated experience as a people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent.
- You are passionate about the art of delivering the highest quality software to customers and doing the right thing.
- You have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people.
- Experience in Ruby, Clojure, or C# (Unity3D) is a plus.
