INSO is looking for a Finance Officer
NSO is an international non‐governmental, non‐profit organisation. Our mission is to support the humanitarian community with information, analysis and advice that enhances situational awareness, supports informed decision‐making, strengthens operational practice and enables humanitarian access.
Location: Amman, Jordan
Job Summary: 
Working in the Finance Unit under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Finance Officer will assist in the processing and recording of payment transactions in a timely and accurate manner. S/He will be responsible for the safekeeping of the cash and bank accounts of INSO Syria.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Cash and banking payments and transfers
  • Manage banking relationships
  • Tracking and monitoring transfers from HQ and bank account balances
  • Recordkeeping and maintenance
  • Up to date entries of transactions into cash and bank books
  • Prepare Amman cash and bank journals for posting into the system
  • Monthly summary of foreign exchanges
  • Provide requirements requested by auditors
Mandatory Requirements: 
  • One or more years of banking or cashiering experience    
  •  A degree in accounting or a relevant business field is desirable.   
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel   
  • Experience with accounting softwares, preferably SUN system
  • Accuracy in the processing of cash transactions, mathematical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written English skills
  • Two years of INGO experience.
