3D Engineer
THE JOB
The Engineer will be part of the 3D project in Amman providing 3D technology (facial orthosis and prosthesis) to identified patients. 3D Engineer, with the help of the 3D Team, will have to use 3D printers and carry out printing and designing processes, writing protocols and documenting all work he/she carry out, working closely with clinical team to find solutions and be creative. The 3D Engineer will be working under the supervision of the 3D Supervisor.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performing and carrying out, all necessary complex / advanced installation, Operation, maintenance and repair of MSF prints and printers.
- Slicing using Cura and Simplify 3D software and printing on Ultimaker and Lulzbot.
- Trouble shooting and repairing printers.
- CAD design/ Solid modeling (Autodesk Fusion 360 is preferred).
- Freeform mesh design (Autodesk Meshmixer preferred).
- Design portfolio including 3D printed parts.
- Ensuring and be responsible of all MSF equipment and tools inside the hospital and at Fablab.
- Reporting detailed updates regarding any issue or problems and proposing solutions.
- Prepare and improve existing technical protocols.
- Ability to work and move between different places; MSF hospital, Fablab and field visits according to the need.
- Managing the stock of consumable items, carrying out physical stock inventories, and report to 3D supervisor on time to avoid any shortage by making the right order.
- Responsible for the equipment and tools (including printers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory update.
- Keeping working area clean and tidy.
- Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to prints, designs, inventory and protocols are always completed (including date of intervention, replaced parts, problems and solutions) and preparing needed reports on time.
- Ability to be flexible as workload will vary from week to week.
- Ability to attend weekly meetings usually held with 3D supervisor and technical advisor after 5pm Amman time.
PROFILE
- Bachelor degree in one of the specialties (Biomed, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineer) or any other related specialty.
- Essential experience in 3D printing and designing.
- Respect and commitment to MSF Policies/ and work time.
- Excellent communication, reporting, organization and time management skills.
- English language communications.
- Teamwork, Flexibility, Commitment.
- Jordanian Nationality.
WORK LOCATION: Amman – Jordan
CONTRACT: 6 months service agreement renewable, with a range of (100 – 150 hours per month).
Probable start date: November 2020
