Under direct supervision of the UN Women Programme Management Specialist, the consultant will perform the technical tasks linked to i) the roll-out of the IMAGES survey; ii) the development of the app-based game on gender equality; iii) challenging gender stereotypes about women and men’s responsibilities concerning unpaid care and household work, and iv) engaging with men and boys. These tasks include: Substantive technical expertise - Provide substantive technical support to implement activities such as workshops, research, studies, and other knowledge products.
- Draft concept notes, proposals, and reports on gender equality and women’s empowerment issues.
- Identify, research, analyze, prepare and/or organize information and briefing materials on gender equality and women’s empowerment issues.
- Build and manage relationships with national partners, as necessary.
- Participate in substantive meetings and events on behalf of UN Women, as required.
Project Implementation - Support timely implementation of activities in accordance with UN Women’s annual work plan.
- Maintain close communication and provide technical inputs to partners to ensure the relevance and quality of activities and projects’ outputs.
- Support the unit in the organization of events, workshops, training related to relevant programmes
- In collaboration with programme team, ensure that processes required for implementation are coordinated for smooth implementation.
- Contribute to documenting project findings and lessons learned.
Monitoring and Reporting - Contribute to the preparation and consolidation of quarterly monitoring and the drafting of donor reports.
- Support the monitoring of project activities by conducting field visits and ensure that substantive feedback is provided to partners, as necessary.
- Ensure complete documentation of relevant programmes.
Expected Deliverables The consultant is expected to deliver the following results: - Monthly timesheets and brief progress reports about implemented activities and achieved results with supporting documents submitted (by the 5th of each month).
- All monthly reports and a final report should be submitted in English.
Performance evaluation: The contractor’s performance will be evaluated based on timeliness, responsibility, initiative, communication, accuracy, and quality of the products delivered. |
