MENTAL HEALTH SUPERVISOR
TO WORK FOR NORTH SYRIA MISSION
Duty Station: Amman-Jordan
Main Responsibilities:
- Medical staff support, includes:
- PFA and selfcare training for medical staff (for ISH, MC, PHC and ambulance teams).
- Training on MH screening of patient, to facilitate the referrals to counsellors or other health actors.
- Networking and Mapping: We received several requests and information on some MH actors working on MH support to isolations centers and Covid hospitals. Knowing that most of them are Syrian and we couldn’t gather more information on their MH program and quality of care provided So, it will be required to:
- Revise MH actors having intervention related to Covid.
- Design the referral pathway for complicated cases to other health actors.
- Assess with other heath actors, the long-term impact of Covid pandemic to anticipate needs for Syria mission, and participate in Covid response proposal for 2021:
- Re-evaluate the need of the MHPSS package and which level needed for 2021.
- Forecast the HR needs: keep DW or permanent counsellors under incentive is needed.
- MHPSS in Covid19 intervention related to Patient care: INH hospital:
- Referral criteria from medical staff to counsellors: have a clear list when the medical team should contact the counsellor, with a screening form for every patient to not miss any patient in need of this care.
- Admission and discharge criteria: as its upon request of medical team, there is no clear identification of cases to be admitted and followed by counsellors with no clear discharge criteria.
- Technical support and follow up: ensure the quality of counselling by frequent and regular support to the counsellors and maintain a clear level and acceptable level of care, with accurate data.
- Weekly MH Report on this service with clear data, morbidities and analyze.
- Referral criteria for external MHPSS actors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: University degree in pycho-social or related field essential.
- Experience: Working experience of at least two years in relevant jobs. MSF experience is an asset.
- Languages: Essential English & Arabic (written and spoken).
- Competencies: Teamwork and Cooperation, Behavioral flexibility, commitment.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible. Initial offer of a one-year contract with probation period.
This position is a local contract, open to individuals who already have the right to work in Jordan.
