Communications & Partnership Officer


Reporting to: 


Executive Director


Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Communications & Partnership Officer is responsible for business model development, customers and partners relation management and communications functions at the office. The Officer leads I Learn programme development by creating a strategic outreach plan, qualifying prospective donors and partners and evaluating competitors, conducting research and preparing reports. . The work involves maintaining strong relationships with partners and prospects donors and ability to multi-task. In addition, the officer prepares communication materials for internal and external audiences and supports the office in media campaigns and outreach activities.  Interacts with departments and project team leads to define communication objectives, audiences, key messages, and deliverables; works with the director on programme development initiatives and outreach activities. 


I.              Communications and Fundraising

The Officer will provide strategic communication plans for the office and will:


The Communications and Partnerships Officer will provide strategic communication and fundraising plans for the office and will be responsible for the following tasks:


○      Partnerships 

●      Develops and manages relationships with key government and private sector stakeholders, and creates and maintains a Partner Relationship Management portfolio

●      Develops and manages relationships with development organizations, funders, donors and partners.

●      Conducts background research to assess the Jordanian market; creates a comprehensive “competitor” analysis and trends analysis.

●      Leads further development and outreach efforts for I Learn, in close coordination with the Executive Director and builds alliances and partnerships with other organizations, stakeholders and local community.

●      Ensure due diligence checks are carried out on new clients and partners 

●      Under direction of Director, manages and leads the overall relationship(s) of the office with other partners and government entities 

●      Explore and achieve potential partnership between I Learn and local organizations and CBOs

●      Uses knowledge and insight from working with stakeholders to contribute to programme development and fundraising 

●      Responds to any prospective donors and potential lead inquiries in timely, consistent and effective manner.


○       Fundraising

●      Leads mobilizing and fund raising efforts and supports programme development activities by assisting in the identification of potential new donors/funders 

●      Develops fund raising and donor outreach strategies and works to pursue funding opportunities aligned with I Learn vision mission and objectives  and develop new programmes to support the strategic direction of the organization

●      Prepares concept papers and proposals, in coordination with the director and the senior team for upcoming/annual funding cycles/ call for proposals


○      Communications 

●      Acts as a liaison between the organization, the public, and the media to ensure that the brand remains top of mind. 

●      Responsible for setting Ilearn Communication plan 

●      Assist Programmes in raising public awareness of ILearn through the provision of project related materials for posting on social media platforms

●      Support Programmes with arrangements for events and any entailed media and PR (such as press releases, posts, invitations, etc.)

●      Collaborate with management and Programme to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on the target audience for ILear.

●      Responds to media inquiries, arrange interviews for the organization and keeps communication lines open to all stakeholders, counterparts, donors, government and partners. .

●      Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database and liaise with reporters and secure interviews 

●      Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.

●      Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the Ilearn brand, and coordinate publicity events as required.

●      Conducts social media outreach 


○      Communications material 

●      Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates Ilearn’s activities, products and/or services and promote Ilearn (brand) activities.

●      Manage the use of social media and website to support the distribution of knowledge resources 

●      Create communications and marketing materials for ILearn  events and other needs 

●      Manage the production of knowledge resources, e.g. human interest stories across our scaling partnerships 

●      Create and improve organisation communications materials (templates, texts, presentations, images, videos, one pagers, business cards) 

●      Manage fit-for-purpose communications systems and databases 

●      Proficient in design and publishing software.

●      Oversees the development and production of presentations and training materials; assists in event support as needed


Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience in project management, business development and communications
  • Bachelor degree in business administration or related field 
  • Excellent (verbal and written) communication skills with the ability to write both technical and creative content in English and Arabic
  • Proven experience in relationship management
  • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising activities with proven records
  • Good working experience in Microsoft business suit 
  • Good working experience in a client relationship management (CRM) software is a plus
