SQL Server (SSRS) Support Engineer

Responsibilities
- Scope a customer issue by collecting the relevant facts and investigate the problem by doing your own research and by involving other teams as needed.
- Advise and educate customers on the features and capabilities of our products
- Communicate solutions and recommendations to the customer and ensure that they have the information and tools to address similar issues in the future
- Collaborate and coordinate with other teams and experts throughout Microsoft to tailor the best solution for customer issues
- Perform activities necessary to quickly mitigate outages and service interruptions in the customer’s environment by recommending and implementing workarounds
- Maintain a proactive approach to customer happiness, identifying customer satisfaction concerns and managing customer expectations.
- Essential Experience
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Technical support (on site and telephone)
- Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to develop strategic on going customer relationships.
- Good communication skills in international environment
- Enjoy team work, and actively contribute to their peer group as well as our customer account teams.
- Deep knowledge of product(s) / technologies being supported with proven track record
- Ability to take leadership in one specific product.
- Mature technical skills and proven support experience
- Required:
- Expert knowledge in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Experience with cloud based BI technologies such as Azure Analysis Services (AAS) and Power BI Service will be a plus
- Experience with SSAS will also be a plus
- Good knowledge of SQL Server engine
- Basic programming skills in C# and C++
- A working knowledge of the .NET Framework
- Know-how for application debugging
- Good understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP and basics of Networking
- Full Professional Proficiency of English language both verbal & written
