ROLE: The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for the identification, investigation and monitoring of infections within the healthcare facility. Support the Infection Control Manager in delivering annual infection control workplans based on risk assessment. Early recognition and prevention of infection, working within guidelines and policies.
· QUALIFICATION: Healthcare degree or equivalent professional qualification (current license preferred), Infection Control Certification preferred or willing to work towards achieving certification within one year.
· EXPERIENCE: Not less than 3 years’ experience in any inpatient care environment. Preferably within an Infection Control Nurse role, or Infection Control Link as a minimum·
SKILLS:. Able to work in a multidisciplinary team. Able to self-motivate and work unsupervised. Presentation & Teaching skills formal and informal. Time management. Computer literate. Able to use initiative a problem solve. Confident in infection prevention and control advice.
