Tax Officer - Group
Job Description
Responsibilities:
US Tax Reporting & Compliance
Assist in the preparation and filing of annual State and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments
Potential adjusted and flexible working hours to meet different time zones requirements (especially the US)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related field, Masters & CPA a plus
Responsibilities:
US Tax Reporting & Compliance
Assist in the preparation and filing of annual State and local income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments
- Assist with non-income tax filings and state audits
- Assist in tax technical research to keep practices current with tax law changes
- Preparation of monthly cash tax reconciliation with tax payable account for State and Federal
- Collaboration with and support to the Local Finance teams in the preparation and submission of the tax-related financial reporting information at the end of the year and for interim results
- Supporting the Group Tax and Group Finance teams in the preparation of the consolidation of tax-related financials for year-end and interim reporting
- Prepare supporting work papers for our interim and annual tax provisions calculations
- Work collaboratively with Business and Finance team to gather tax return/tax provision information
- Prepare, distribute, and monitor income tax packages and information requests
- Support in undertaking a monthly review of tax figures on group level
- Support the Group Tax team in the consolidation of the budgeted and forecasted tax results and ETR for the group
- Assistance in how local tax rules are implemented for compliance and reporting purposes
- Assistance in the calculation of the local provisions and ETR for certain jurisdictions within the Group under direction from the Group tax manager
- Support ad hoc projects as required by management
- Work on use of tax technology and identify opportunities to make the process more efficient
- Support the Group Tax team in the maintenance and enhancement of relevant accounting/tax systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Proficient in English and Arabic (spoken and written)
- A team player
- Must be eager to learn
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and the other Microsoft Office Suite is a must
- Detail oriented and adept to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
