Partnership Coordinator (National Position)

Our Ideal Candidate:

The purpose of the Partnership Coordinator position is to strengthen the systems and tools for working with local partners under the area office. This will involve developing, improving and rolling out processes for identifying, selecting and managing partnerships. The position will work closely with the different CCs to support them in the implementation of working with partners in the area office and provide appropriate capacity building support. The Partnership Coordinator will also support the development of a clear partnership strategy which will inform how NRC works with partners in the area office.

We are seeking a motivated professional individual to join our Syria Response Office’s operations. The ideal candidate must have experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context or equivalent. Along with a demonstrated previous experience in project implementation and/or partnership relations. along with experience of providing capacity building and training support, developing and implementing partnership processes and tools, and experience in managing relations with local partners. The candidate must be fluent in both Arabic and English, both written and verbal. Proficiency is MS Office applications is required. The candidate must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder in a relevant field.

Generic Responsibilities
  1. Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and awareness of NRC global and regional strategies.
  2. Contribute to partnership strategy development.
  3. Provide regular progress reports to Area Programme Manager.
  4. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
  6. Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
  7. Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
  8. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.

Specific Responsibilities

  1. Support the development and application of NRC’s partnership approaches / strategy.
  2. Develop, review and roll out partnership processes and tools, as required.
  3. Work closely with CCs to identify partner needs and ensure the effective management of ongoing partners.
  4. Participate in assessments of new and current partners.
  5. Support proposal development processes when there are partners included.
  6. Support and capacity build NRC teams on partnership.
  7. Work with programme and support managers to identify NRC and partner staff capacity needs and address them with training, coaching and mentoring schemes.
  8. Conduct partner mapping and other exercises, as well as coordinating with other actors, to better understand partner operating context.
  9. Support and share learning and promote a culture of open and equal partnership. 
Qualifications
  1. Experience from working in a project implementation and/or partnership relations position in a humanitarian/recovery context
  2. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  3. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  4. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  5. Fluency in English, both written and verbal  
  6. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  7. Proficiency in MS Office applications
  8. Knowledge of partnership ways of working
  9. Fluency in Arabic, both written and verbal
  10. Experience of providing capacity building and training support
  11. Experience of developing and implementing partnership processes and tools
  12. Experience of managing relationships with local partners
