BACKGROUND INFORMATION – JOB SPECIFIC

JOHUD is seeking to hire an experienced Head of IT to oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions in our organization. You will be in charge of a team of IT and manage the organization’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies.

An excellent head of IT is very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives.

The goal is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the organization.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful Head of IT must be able to undertake independently the following tasks:

Technology operations:

· Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals.

· Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management.

· Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs.

· Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software.

· Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.

· Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.

· Coordinate IT team to provide guidance.

· Control budget and report on expenditure.

· Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.

Data protection:

· Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements.

· Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders.

· Hold training with staff members across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing.

· Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues.

· Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company.

· Serve as the point of contact between the company and the data protection authorities.

Team Management: · Lead the team using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.

· Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.

EXPERIENCE/LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

· 5-8 years in a leading IT role with a NGOs or Donor organizations.

· BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus.

· Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.

· Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.

· Experience in controlling information technology budget.

· Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

· Ability to manage a heavy workload and to deliver to tight deadlines, often unsupervised.

· Installing and Configuring Windows server and ( AD-DC , DHCP , DNS ,CA ,,,,)

· Hyper-V knowledge.

· Fixing & troubleshooting servers Operating Systems problems.

· Citrix Configuration, Installation and problems fixing.

· Backup Installation, monitoring, problems fixing ( Veritas NetBackup and Acronis).

· Good knowledge in firewall policies creating and monitoring traffic.

· Kaspersky and Symantec Anti-Viruses Licenses Renewal, updates, installation and configuration.

· Linux for Oracle OS basic knowledge.

· DNS records changing and building.

· Storage Devices configuration, files sharing, updates and errors checking.

· Storage devices hard disks installation and problems fixing.

· Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

· Continuously analyze current process, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement.

· Manages and coordinates all IT-related matters including data, wireless communications, and IP phones.

· Format PCs and laptops (Microsoft windows + Office licenses from JOHUD).

· Providing tech support for windows (Updates, Upgrades, Bugs fixing, Licenses).

· Hardware problems (Servers, Laptops and PCs).

· Installing EDR including licenses for devices.

· Monitor all threats and suspicious behaviors on devices and network.

· Backup software experience (VEEAM, VERITAS NetBackup, and Acronis).

· Providing support for installed cameras if needed.

· Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network issues.

· Creating Forests and Domains (Roles and features).

· Joining devices into domains and creating group policies.

· Writing specs for any new purchase related to IT.

· CMS experience for JOHUD, HRH Princess Basma’s website.

· Implement and ensure network security and maintain vendor relationships and purchases.

· Microsoft office 365 services (exchange , teams , azure , security , compliance ,SharePoint )

· Vendor’s agreements renewal and related technical issues.

· Oracle DB and Applications basic knowledge.

Language Requirements:

· Must have the ability to speak English and Arabic to an advanced and sophisticated level, both written and verbal.
