Tamayouz Excellence Award (established in 2012) is an independent initiative that aims to advance the profession of architecture both academically and professionally. It does so through its seven-category awards programme, its week-long annual workshop, as well as several public events that it holds throughout the year in different parts of the MENA region.


In 2013, Tamayouz Excellence Award became the first ever award in the Middle East to have a dedicated award for women in architecture and construction. And in 2016, its awards went international and opened up to architects, academics and students all over the world.


In the past few years, the Tamayouz family has grown exponentially, and receives more than 1,000 submissions across its seven categories each year, making it one of the largest awards programmes in the Middle East.



This post will support the delivery of Tamayouz Excellence Award’s annual ceremony taking place in January 2023. As Public Relations Assistant, you will work closely with a high-level professional to accomplish the organisation’s day-to-day tasks. You are expected to handle a wide range of high-level administrative tasks including executive communication, preparation of multimedia corporate content and coordinating large-scale events with external partners.


To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, have great time management skills and be able to act without guidance.


Ultimately, you will contribute to the efficiency of our organisation by providing personalized and timely support to executive members. 


Responsibilities

• Maintaining strict confidentiality.

• Responsible for daily communications in Arabic and English. 

• Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner.

• Format information for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, and reports.

• Working directly with the director. 

• Preparing, creating, and implementing communication materials in both Arabic and English such as annual publications, promotional materials, and social media campaigns. 

• Sustaining a level of professionalism among staff

• Supporting the team in preparing for the annual ceremony in January 2023, and liaising with the other event partners. 

• Take minutes during meetings.

• Support other areas of work as and when required


Qualifications

Essential: 

• Understanding of project management.

• Professional and friendly demeanour.

• Thorough attention to detail.

• Self-motivated but able to work in a team.

• Strong knowledge of clerical activities.

• Ability to competently use IT systems including Microsoft, and Google. 

• Relevant experience. 

• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and prioritise accordingly

• A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, Languages or a similar field.

• Good working knowledge of PR concepts and best practices.

• Experience with video production and editing.

• Excellent copywriting and editing skills.

• Experience with social media platforms.

• Strong presentation skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and methods.


Advantageous: 

• Experience of working in a Higher Education Institution or a cultural organisation.

• Ability to competently use Adobe InDesign. 


The successful candidate will go through three stages:

  • Stage 1: Interview with the Middle East Region Coordinator (Interview conducted in Arabic)
  • Stage 2: Interview with the Director (Interview conducted in English)
  • Stage 3: Final candidates will go through a skills assessment stage, you will be given a task and 90 mins to complete the task.
