Cancer Registrar



King Hussein Cancer Center is seeking to hire the following vacancy:           

                                                                        Cancer Registrar

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifies reportable cases
  • Reviews and abstracts patient information from both patient charts and the available electronic information system
  • Patient information might include demographic, treatment and other cancer identification data.
  • Codes these data in compliance with internationally applicable standards
  • Enters the data into the cancer registry database.
  • Organizes the daily work according to the registry and the institutional policies and procedures.
  • May attend tumor boards and cancer committee meetings.
  • Provides clerical assistance to other colleagues when necessary.
  • Performs any duties and responsibilities as requested by the direct supervisor.

Education & Professional Experience (essential minimum requirement):

  • Medical Records Diploma.
  • (0-1) year of relevant experience.
  • Good command of oral and written English with the ability to write SOPs.
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure

Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Maintaining a consistent administrative work flow for department director.
  • Handling routine enquiries and re-route urgent matters for attention in department’s director absence.
  • Coordinating and scheduling meetings and appointments for the department director, notifying participants, preparing and arranging all necessary material or agenda for these meetings.
  • Managing the communication activities and circulars distribution at assigned department, and maintain master file of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Sorting incoming mail, faxes, and deliveries for distribution, Forward incoming general e-mails to the appropriate staff member
  • Replying to general information requests with the accurate information.
  • Performing data entry and updating of the department databases, with ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Establishing and maintaining organized document files for the department.
  • Updating and maintaining an effective filing system.
  • Handling &following up on documentations communicated with external bodies.
  • Coordinating and following up the quality department on updating the department templates and forms.
  • Performing any related task as requested by the direct supervisor

Education & Professional Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or any relevant field.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and interactive skills.
  • Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Excellent command in English and Arabic languages (both written and spoken).

Surgical Clinical Reviewer

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Collect clinical data on variables, including preoperative risk factors, intraoperative variables and 30-day postoperative mortality and morbidity outcomes for patients undergoing major and minor surgical procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  2. Validates and submits the data through a secure, web-based system.
  3. Conducts data audits, as instructed.
  4. Meets regularly with the Surgeon Champion and quality team to review results.
  5. The SCR is required to successfully complete an ACS NSQIP training program and participate in ongoing training, conferences (including the annual ACS NSQIP meeting) and calls.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor.

Education & Professional Experience/Minimum Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree of Nursing, Health informatics, Bio-engineering or any related Healthcare filed is required.
  2. Minimum one year experience in hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, clinical research or medical records. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required.
  3. Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required.
  4. Excellent Communication Skills.
  5. Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  6. Basics statistical and research skills
  7. Excellent command of English.
  8. Quality management knowledge is plus
