١-  Child Protection Manager

Child protection is the prevention of and response to abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence against children. Child protection case management is the process of helping individual children and families through direct social-work-type support, and managing information well. Within child protection case management, there should be appropriate involvement of children throughout the process, as well as full consideration of the best interests of the child.
The position of Child Protection Manager will be responsible for taking the lead on the coordination of IMC’s child protection case management program. The Child Protection Manager will be a seasoned protection professional with a formal degree in psychology, sociology or social work, and with experience working within child protection case management programs. The Child Protection Manager will provide technical supervision and support to IMC’s Child Protection Officers, including those based in urban locations and IMC’s Senior Child Protection Officer (camps). The Child Protection Manager reports directly to IMC’s Protection Advisor.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
Scope of Work:
  • Responsible for the overall coordination of child protection activities, in particular child protection case management, taking place under numerous different grants/projects within IMC Jordan. This includes contributing to donor proposals, reporting and programing direction and strategy
  • Continued development of resources, training materials and guidance for the child protection program
  • Support and provide technical supervision to the Senior Child Protection Officer (camps) in addressing the needs of the child protection program within Azraq and Za’atari camps. With this Senior Officer, identify and address any aspects related to the child protection program, in order to ensure high quality services in camps.
  • Responsible for the technical supervision of approximately 2 Child Protection Officers, each one dedicated to covering specific urban locations where child protection case management teams are based. With these staff, identify and address any technical aspects related to the child protection program, in order to ensure high quality services in urban areas
  • In addition to technical supervision of Child Protection Officers and program management tasks, provide technical guidance, support, mentoring, coaching and role modeling of best practice for all child protection staff
  • Provide support to the Protection Advisor by filling in the role/tasks as needed, in particular in the absence of the Protection Advisor
  • In coordination with the Protection Advisor, represent IMC at relevant national child protection coordination meetings, and if ever needed, engage with field level protection and child protection coordination meetings.
  • Closely support the Child Protection Team Leaders, Case Managers and Officers with all cases undergoing Best Interest Determination (BID) process. This includes review of all BID reports, attendance at BID panels when needed to support IMC child protection staff, and represent IMC as needed where cases of other agencies are presented. In addition, ensure timely and clear communication to the Protection Advisor regarding all BID cases
  • Support child protection staff to coordinate and participate in case conferences, both internal and external, for complex and other cases as required in both camps. Take the lead in coordination and chairing of complex case conferences as needed
  • Lead on the recruitment process for all child protection staff
  • Ensure high quality child protection case management services are being provided to children, and that documentation completed by Child Protection Case Managers reflects this. This will be done through capacity building and training for staff, and quality measures such as file checking and case discussions and reflections
  • Work closely and effectively with other IMC departments to ensure coordination between child protection and other sectors of intervention, primarily health, mental health and PSS services
  • Coordinate donor reporting in relation to child protection activities, by liaising with the Senior Child Protection Officer in camps, Child Protection Officers in the urban locations, and other staff as needed, ensuring high quality and accurate reporting of data and activities, as well as capacity building staff to ensure they are able to actively and effectively continue to donor reporting
  • Work closely with IMC MEAL team to ensure effective trends analysis, measurement of indicators, monitoring and evaluation of child protection activities in the camps, including regular engagement with beneficiaries
  • Promote and communicate Child Safeguarding and PSEA principles, policies and requirements to all staff in urban areas, and ensure that any issues are brought the attention, including through proper reporting mechanisms, to IMC’s focal points for both Child Safeguarding and PSEA
  • Ensure high quality correspondence with local partners, other agencies and governmental organizations
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications
 

- Bachelor degree in in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Social Science or related field is mandatory
- Child Protection Case Management experience is mandatory
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Arabic and English
- Experience in working with children
- Experience in managing staff (desirable)

٢-  IT Assistant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish basic IT office functions such as simple network to enable data sharing, files printing, internet access for other IMC members.
  • Maintain all equipment such as computers, printers, mobile phones, photocopiers, CCTV cameras and monitors and scanners including hardware, software and internet components for all IMC locations.
  • Provide hardware and software support remotely for IMC staff, ensuring compliance with BIS requirements.
  • Establish and maintain access to internet, shared server and office network, manage permissions and act as network administrator.
  • Provide technical and software support to establish and maintain mobile monitoring and tracking applications and associated databases to the IMC staff as required.
  • Provide training and support to IMC staff as required.
  • Install and maintain email addresses and ensure email backup and data recovery.
  • Ensure data back-ups and data protection.
  • Set up basic power protection for IT equipment.
  • Locate local suppliers and support services for IT equipment (if existing).
  • Provide IT support to Head office plus all IMC sites in the field (all Governorates) depending on the schedule which arranged by IT Supervisor.
  • Have good skills in communication, response and work under pressure.
  • Have a good English language skills and writing reports and e-mails.
  • Support and provide assistance for any task as required by IT supervisor.
  • Supervised by JCP IT Manger for training, technical management and administration.
Qualifications Required:
  • Holds a bachelor's degree or diploma in the field of information technologies or computer   networks.
  • Have at least two years of experience in the field of information technologies.

JOB SUMMARY

Within child protection case management, there should be appropriate involvement of children throughout the process, as well as full consideration of the best interest of the child.
The position of Child Protection Officer will be a seasoned protection professional with a formal degree in psychology, sociology or social work. The position requires the Child Protection Officer to support field staff (mainly child protection case managers) working with children through the application of best practices on Child Protection. This includes the provision of technical supervision, mentoring and shadowing of case managers. The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for the revision of case management processes, provision of trainings, development of documentation, all based on the global minimum standards.
The Child Protection Officer will spend at least 65% of his/her time in the field working directly with child protection staff and field managers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Supervision
The Child Protection Officer will provide technical supervision in a group setting. The Child Protection Officer is responsible for holding regular sessions (1-2 sessions per month) in each of his/her responsible locations. 
Training
The Child Protection Officer is responsible for the development and delivery of training on Case Management, Psychosocial and Child Protection related topics. This will take shape in both formal and informal trainings
Mentoring
The Child Protection Officer is responsible for providing child protection case management staff with on the job coaching and mentoring in the following manner:
  • Shadowing of case managers in interviews and home visits
  • Review and discuss case documentation with case managers
  • Participating in case discussions and case conferences and providing suggestions and technical input regarding the interventions as needed
  • Use of various tools to mentor the case managers and help to develop their competencies in a reflective manner.
Review of Best Interest Determination (BID) cases and membership of BID panels
  • The Child Protection Officer regularly participates in BID panels in their areas of responsibilities
  • The Child Protection Officer is responsible for reviewing any BID document sent from his/her area of responsibility before it is sent to the Protection Advisor. This is done in cooperation with the responsible case manager and the team leader
  • The Child Protection Officer will ensure that the BID document is presented according to guidelines given by UNHCR. They will also review the document to ensure clarity in language and that information is holistic and all encompassing
Membership of coordination groups on protection and referral, both at field and central levels
The Child Protection Officer is responsible for attending all relevant protection and referral coordination meetings in the field (and in Amman as needed), together with the relevant field staff. Relevant information from these meetings shall be given to staff in the field through the Field Manager
Participation in recruitment processes
The Child Protection Officer will provide support requested by Field Managers, Protection Advisor or human resources in the recruitment process of new case managers or other staff working in protection related roles. This can be through the participation in interviews, the development of written tests or interview questions.
Focal Points
The Child Protection Officer will be assigned the responsibility for different geographical areas. Here he/she will act as the focal point for the staff in the field and will support through phone calls and regular visits. The division of geographical areas is subject to regular revision and change.
 Other tasks
  • The Child Protection Officer will ensure high quality correspondence with local partners, other agencies, grantees and governmental organizations as needed and directed by the supervisor
  • Contribute to proposals and report writing as needed
  • Responsible for collecting and reporting on program specific indicators related to their scope of work

  • Work in 24 shifts to ensure that the Reception Area is staffed and supervised at all time
  • Welcome and receive women and their dependents as they arrive to Azraq camp
  • Collect and record all relevant basic information for all beneficiaries who enter the Reception Area
  • Conduct basic assessments on all beneficiaries to identify any issues requiring referral or service provision
  • Provide basic psychological first aid to the beneficiaries during their accommodation at the Reception Area
  • Evaluate beneficiary satisfaction and quality of care provided
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management staff as required on time
  • Supervise the volunteers and ensure they are supported to complete their tasks
  • Link beneficiaries to the services in the camp
  • Liaise with UNHCR on case with protection concerns, ensuring that all concerns are addressed and the protection needs of beneficiaries are provided for
  • Report any concerns or incidents occurring at the Reception Area as per incident reporting protocol 
  • Be familiar with and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) relating to the operation of the Reception Area
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by the supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Education/Degree: Bachelor degree
  • Years of experience: 2 years in a role related to social work
  • Other: Available to work 24 hour shifts
