Paediatrician (Daily Worker)
CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private, non-profit international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. Médecins Sans Frontières France is present in Jordan since 10 years running different projects. In Irbid, the organization is running a neonatal unit and MHC and is seeking Neonatologist Paediatrician for its pool of daily workers.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Medical Activity Manager and in close collaboration with the medical team:
- Ensures and organises medical activities for patients in accordance with the context, MSF protocols and with universal hygiene standards, taking into consideration quality and continuity of care.
- Manages the care for sick and/or premature neonates (16 beds unit).
- Evaluates sick children in the paediatric outpatient department.
- Uses MSF and Jordanian protocols to guide prescription of medications and treatment.
- Attends deliveries whenever requested by the obstetrician or midwife.
- Attends all caesarean section deliveries while on shift, and manages any necessary neonatal resuscitation in conjunction with the rest of the healthcare team.
- Availability for 24 hours and 12-hours shifts, both day and night.
- Collaborates with full medical team – paediatricians, obstetricians, nurses, midwives and MSF medical team leader – to provide the highest quality patient care.
PROFILE
- Recognized medical doctor diploma/degree and Registration in Jordan Medical Association are required
- Experience in a paediatric ward is required
- Experience in neonatal intensive care unit is preferred
- Neonatal resuscitation ability is required
- Able to perform competently in emergency situations
- Organized and able to work under pressure
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic is required
- Jordanian nationality required
