1- Support Escalation Engineer

  • About the Role… Support Escalation Engineers (SEE) investigate and solve critical, complex, technical issues escalated from Support Engineering teams (typically from Tier 1 and Tier 2) requiring expert level product or service knowledge. SEEs frequently use event logs, component traces, performance traces, and other sophisticated troubleshooting tools along with a wealth of support experience with similar customers to resolve issues. SEEs may also collaborate with Escalation Engineers and occasionally with Product Group component owners to clarify unknown behavior in the product. SEEs are experts at determining how something should be configured as a best practice to avoid and solve problems and in sharing their knowledge during mentoring and coaching sessions with others. An SEE’s strong suit is in employing problem isolation techniques and product knowledge to solve problems

      QualificationsExperiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
      • Years Experience: 3-5 in systems development, network operations, software support or I.T. consulting in enterprise environment preferred 
      • Strong Microsoft System Center Suite Knowledgespecially System Center Virtual Machine Manager
      • Microsoft Windows Server Experience
      • Networking knowledge is a plus
      • Good Knowledge of virtualization technologies, working with Microsoft Hyper-V.
      • Good Communication Skills - spoken and written English (including technical writing). Additional languages are a plus.
      • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
      • Excellent customer service skills and customer focused attitude.
      • Effective learning skills and the ability to learn on the go.
      • Strong problem-solving skills, includes troubleshooting, problem analysis and resolution, good judgment/decision making ability.
      • Genuine passion for technology and desire and aptitude to increase technical skill level required.

    2- Support Engineer

    Microsoft SQL Server support is a strategic unit of Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS). As a Support Engineer, you will represent Microsoft in customer communication via phone, email, or chat to assist customers in resolving technical issues involving Microsoft products and services. You will have the opportunity to foster positive customer relationships and build customer loyalty while effectively managing challenging situations.
    The SQL Engineer is a trusted advisor to fellow IT Professionals, using their technical skills to solve high level complex problems, involving broad, in-depth product knowledge. Frequently, these problems will not only be technically complex, but will also require a customer oriented mindset. You will have a chance to be involved in troubleshooting various environments for some of the world’s largest companies.

    ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities: 
    • Exhibit leadership through personal responsibility, accountability and teamwork.
    • Act as a technical focal point in cooperative relationships with other companies.
    • Manage crisis situations that may involve technically challenging issues and diverse audiences while ensuring High customer satisfaction.
    • Own and resolve technically complex mission critical or politically hot customer issues.
    • Use trace analysis, debug skills and other proprietary tools, to analyze problems and develop solutions to meet customer needs. 
    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, while working with diverse audiences including highly technical IT professionals, developers, architects, and executive management.

    The ideal candidate will be required to have a Technical Degree or adequate practical background (2-5 years) on the following Technologies
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2014 at administrative level (Installation, index and table maintenance, backups etc.)
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2014 at dev level (SQL language, Stored Procedures, etc.)
    • Good Windows Operating System background on Threads, Processes and Memory Management (Heap, Stack, Virtual Memory)
    • Strong knowledge related to any other relational DB (eg Oracle) running in a Windows environment is very much appreciated
    • General knowledge about Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, and Microsoft Infrastrucutre Services. Azure Identity and Security is a plus.
    • Additional skills on one of the following technologies will be considered a big plus
      • Windows Clustering 
      • Debugging / Creating and Reading memory Dumps
      • Basic Programming skills with Python, R, C# or VB.Net
      • Good Knowledge of .Net Framework 
    • A Microsoft certification (MCSE or MCSD) is also considered a plus.
