Hammoudeh Food Industries Co. is looking to attract a candidate to fill the position of “Production manager” as per the following: Role summary: The Production Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Cheese plant Production. The purpose of this position is to provide principled leadership and support for company growth and improvements, while supporting employees to ensure standard operating procedures, GMP’s and quality programs. The Production Manager is responsible to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve safety, efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction.The Production Manager will provide strong leadership, guidance and direction for all employees within the plant. This role will have direct responsibility for cheese production and to ensure that volume, cost standards and quality parameters of the company are achieved. Excellent technical knowledge of cheese and dairy manufacturing is required, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a willingness to support a 24-hour operation. Essential duties and responsibilities: • Plans, organizes and directs manufacturing operations to ensure the plant meets its daily production schedule while ensuring product standards meet or exceed our customers’ expectations. • Acts as a liaison between departments, maintaining open lines of communication between production, quality, maintenance and supply chain groups to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. • Improves production quality, throughput, delivery performance, predictability and profitability through effective planning, metrics and training • Maintains a high on-floor presence especially for line struggles, project work and first production tests/runs. • Initiates tools and processes to minimize manufacturing costs and improve productivity through effective utilization of manpower, availability of equipment and materials. • Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce production costs and improve material flow. • Mechanically inclined to be able to work together with the maintenance department on all matters related to equipment and development relating to modification of machine and equipment to improve production and product quality. • Maintain a safe work environment by following and enforcing company Good Manufacturing Practices 'GMPs', HACCP, and Food Safety Regulations. • Troubleshoot product stoppages while providing direction, support and guidance to the workforce to be proactive with measures to prevent product stoppages. • Effectively communicate issues to the management team and help in developing and improving manufacturing processes and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. • Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. • Provide day to day leadership and direction to all production personnel • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing company policy and programs, to include administering of discipline as required. • Work with department managers to develop and maintain operations training programs for employees in their job requirements. • Responsible for the scheduling and/or adjustment in schedules to accommodate production requirements.Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. • Responsible for maintaining statistical information necessary to make process adjustments as required for yield and quality maximization. • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Qualifications: • Advanced university degree in Food or Dairy science and technology • 5+ years of production experience in the dairy industry, ideally fresh and processed cheese production. • Leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role. • Mechanically inclined (preferred). • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities. • Working knowledge of Arabic and English. • The candidate must have strong communication, analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. The individual must be highly motivated with the ability to motivate a large diverse workforce.
