Learning and Social Inclusion Officer
Job Summary
The Learning and Social Inclusion Officer will monitor the social inclusion transformational learning activities conducted by youth facilitators/trainers living with disabilities in the local communities of Amman communities and nationwide as required; provide follow up, feedback and coaching for YWD youth facilitators, ensuring the quality of the transformational learning activities. S/he will provide learning progress reports from each learning session in addition to facilitators’ evaluations.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Oversee youth-led learning activities targeting youth living with disabilities in the communities of Amman and nationwide as required; Contribute to the advancement of the learning curricula design based on feedback provided from the youth;
- Monitor, report on, and improve quality of youth-lead learning activities;
- Ensure feedback and evaluation results for M&E purposes;
- Highlight success stories that result from the learning activities in coordination with the communications team;
- Mentor and coach teams of YouthPower youth facilitators while conducting the learning sessions within their communities;
- Coordinate and create linkages between the youth and local partners to design and implement practicum learning activities that would positively position the youth in their communities; and that would engage the youth living with physical, visual and hearing disabilities;
- Work closely with the logistics team, assuring logistical support to each learning activity is secured;
- Ensure participant support (travel allowances, food) are arranged and executed
- Arrange for venues, training supplies, and production of training materials
- Prepare weekly progress reports in English on all ongoing activities, with a focus on the achieved goals
- Any other tasks or support required and assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of youth development; experience working with youth ages 10-29.
- Proven ability to engage women, youth, YWD and other marginalized populations in community development or training activities; experience in gender and inclusion programming a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience in monitoring training activities.
- Highly effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. Strong presentation skills.
- Strong Arabic writing and communication skills, good command of English.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in social studies, education, international development, or related field.
- At least three years of training experience required, with experience working/volunteering with international assistance projects preferable.
- At least one year of experience in working with youth living with disabilities required, for both youth trainers and beneficiaries.
- Experience developing/designing and executing training programs; experience in curricula development is a plus.
